Lactate infusions in obsessive-compulsive disorder
American Journal of Psychiatry, 1985Panic attacks followed sodium lactate infusions in one of seven patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder and 26 of 48 patients with panic disorder or agoraphobia with panic attacks. This suggests that lactate-induced panic is specific to the latter groups.

Premalignant Disorders of the Breast in Pregnancy and Lactation
2020Papillomas, atypical hyperplasias, and lobular carcinoma in situ of the breast are not malignant tumors, but present serious management challenges when they are diagnosed in a breast biopsy . Upgrading after excision and increased possibility of future cancer are risks that accompany these lesions. While some features have been defined as high-risk for

Lactate-induced panic in primary affective disorder
American Journal of Psychiatry, 1986Intravenous sodium lactate was given to seven patients with primary depression and secondary panic attacks and 26 patients with panic disorder or agoraphobia with panic attacks. The two groups had similar rates of panic response. These results challenge the diagnostic specificity of lactate-induced panic.

Response to lactate infusion in generalized anxiety disorder
Biological Psychiatry, 1988Intravenous sodium lactate infusion provokes symptoms of panic in patients with panic disorder at a significantly higher rate than in normal controls. Lactate sensitivity has been postulated to be specific for patients with panic attacks regardless of frequency of attacks or coexisting diagnoses.

Timely recognition is important in order to improve fetal and maternal outcomes. Imaging is often performed to confirm a suspected adrenal lesion; however, increasing usage of diagnostic imaging during ...

Biological correlates of lactate sensitivity in panic disorder
Biological Psychiatry, 1989In this pilot study, 9/9 patients with panic disorder experienced a lactate-induced panic attack as compared with 0/9 controls. Baseline measurements were significant for higher anxiety self-ratings, higher heart and respiratory rates, elevated potassium, and lower lymphocyte 3H-dihydroalprenolol (DHA) binding in the patient group.
