A case of yogurt central line‐associated bloodstream infection in a child with intestinal failure
Abstract Central line‐associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI) are a significant cause of morbidity in children with intestinal failure (IF). Probiotic therapy is discouraged in patients with IF because of the increased risk of bacteremia with the probiotic organism.

Probiotic supplementation during pregnancy shows a modest, non‐robust increase in Group B Streptococcus decolonization, with no consistent benefit for bacterial vaginosis or vulvovaginal candidiasis. Probiotics may serve as a non‐antibiotic adjunct, but standardized regimens and ecological diagnostic frameworks are required.

Examination of antimicrobial potential in natural isolates of lactobacillus casei/paracasei group
The aim of this study was to investigate the antimicrobial potential of 52 natural isolates of Lactobacillus casei/paracasei. The incidence of relevant genes encoding BacSJ (bacSJ2-8/bacSJ2-8i gene cluster), acidocin 8912 (acdT), ABC-transporter (abcT) and accessory protein (acc) was also studied.

THE ISOLATION OF OLIGOSACCHARIDES FROM THE CELL-WALL POLYSACCHARIDE OF LACTOBACILLUS CASEI, SEROLOGICAL GROUP C [PDF]
1. A number of disaccharides and oligosaccharides have been isolated from the products of mild acid hydrolysis of the specific substance from Lactobacillus casei, serological group C. 2. The major disaccharide is O-beta-d-glucopyranosyl-(1-->3)-N-acetyl- d-galactosamine (B4) and evidence is presented for the structure of a tetrasaccharide composed of O-
