In Vitro Study of Antimicrobial Activity of Lactoferrins from Various Sources

open access: yesАнтибиотики и Химиотерапия, 2020
Comparative antimicrobial activity of lactoferrins from various sources (native lactoferrin from Laprot, human hololactoferrin, recombinant human lactoferrin isolated from the cultural medium of permissive cell culture transfected using pseudoadenovirus ...

Cloning of lactoferrin gene of mice and the difference of lactoferrin gene expression in mammary gland at different lactation stages

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2004
Total RNA was extracted from mammary gland of mice. Two primers were designed and synthesized according to the murine lactoferrin gene reported in Genbank. A cDNA fragment about 897 bp in length was obtained through RT-PCR.

Duct‐level evaluation of mammary gland health, somatic cell count and bacterial flora in lactating jennies

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Assessing mammary gland health in donkeys is challenging due to the lack of species‐specific diagnostic criteria for subclinical mastitis. Although somatic cell count (SCC) is widely used in dairy ruminants, its diagnostic value in jennies remains unclear.

In vitro effects of lactoferrin on intestinal and mammary epithelial cell lines

open access: yesItalian Journal of Animal Science, 2010
Lactoferrin is an iron binding glycoprotein endowed with multiple functions, including non-specific immune defence against pathogens, immunomodulatory activity and regulation of cell growth. The gastrointestinal tract of the newborn and the mammary gland

Lactoferrin deficiency promotes colitis-associated colorectal dysplasia in mice. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Nonresolving inflammatory processes affect all stages of carcinogenesis. Lactoferrin, a member of the transferrin family, is involved in the innate immune response and anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, and anti-tumor activities. We previously found that

Probiotic Spore Inspired Oral Drug Delivery System With Multiple‐Barriers‐Crossing Ability Modulates Gut‐Brain Axis for Parkinson's Disease Therapy

open access: yesExploration, EarlyView.
Inspired by the germination of probiotic spores, we utilize the excellent characteristics of spores to break through multiple barriers of oral brain‐targeted delivery. Besides the probiotics mediated gut‐brain communication, the spore coat proteins derived nanosystems with multiple‐barriers‐crossing ability alleviate neurodegeneration.

Suppression of osteoclastogenesis by lactoferrin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Recent research has shown that lactoferrin indirectly suppresses osteoclastogenesis by affecting osteoblasts and periodontal ligament fibroblasts. However, the mechanism by which lactoferrin directly affects osteoclastogenesis is yet to be reported ...

Comprehensive Review on Advancements in Food Preservation Technologies for Quality and Sustainability

open access: yesFood Chemistry International, EarlyView.
Preservatives limit microbial development, oxidation, and enzymatic degradation, resulting in better food quality and extended shelf life. Classified as natural, synthetic, or biological, each preservative has distinctive attributes and modes of action. Growing preference for natural preservatives aligns with clean label trends.

On-farm fractionation of milk components [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Methods for on-farm extraction of low-concentration (minor) proteins from raw whole bovine milk directly after milking were explored. These minor proteins have high commercial value.
