Seasonal diet of Lama guanicoe (Camelidae: Artiodactyla) in a heterogeneous landscape of South Patagonia [PDF]
Large diversity of habitat types, plant species assemblages, and silvopastoral activities in Nothofagus spp. forests condition the food availability for native herbivores. This work evaluates the seasonal diet of Lama guanicoe linked to plant life forms and habitat types in sub-Antarctic forests.

A case of allosuckling in wild guanacos (Lama guanicoe) [PDF]
Although allosuckling, the lactation of non-filial offspring, can be a costly behavior, it has been reported in several species across a wide range of mammalian orders. Monotocous species such as ungulates exhibit this behavior less frequently than polytocous species, and most cases have been reported among captive specimens.

Guanaco (Lama guanicoe) mortality by entanglement in wire fences [PDF]
Abstract Wire fences are widely used in rangelands around the world and may have a negative impact on wildlife that varies among species and habitats. The guanaco ( Lama guanicoe ) is the largest Patagonian ungulate and though entanglement in wire fences is frequently reported, its impact on guanaco populations has not been previously evaluated.

Aggressive vocalizations in feeding guanacos, Lama guanicoe
Guanacos (Lama guanicoe) are highly social ungulates which exhibit subtle threat displays and aggressive vocalizations when feeding. Although studies have qualitatively described aggressive vocalizations, the causation and functional significance of aggressive vocalizations in feeding guanacos are poorly understood.

Human–wildlife conflicts in Patagonia: ranchers’ perceptions of guanaco Lama guanicoe abundance [PDF]

Flexibilidad reproductiva en camélidos sudamericanos: Primeros registros de tácticas de apareamiento alternativas en guanacos silvestres (Lama guanicoe) [PDF]
Intraspecific variation in mating behavior has been documented in diverse taxa, including ungulates. Here, we report and describe for the first time the existence of alternative mating tactics in a wild guanaco (Lama guanicoe) partially migratory ...
