Global Winds Shape Planetary‐Scale Lamb Waves
In 2022, the Hunga volcano eruption in Tonga generated atmospheric pressure waves that propagated globally and produced tsunamis in all the world's oceans.

Application of Nonlinear Lamb Wave Mixing Method for Residual Stress Measurement in Metal Plate
Harmonic nonlinear ultrasound can offer high sensitivity for residual stress measurements; however, it cannot be used for local stress measurements at a point in space and exhibits nonlinear distortions in the experimental system.

Frequency Dependence of Second-Harmonic Generation in Lamb Waves [PDF]
The frequency dependence of the second-harmonic generation in Lamb waves is studied theoretically and numerically in order to examine the role of phase matching for sensitive evaluation of material nonlinearity.

Stimulation of osteoblast differentiation with guided ultrasound waves [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Ultrasound induces mechanical vibration and heat, causing differentiation and proliferation in osteoblasts. All known in vitro evaluations of ultrasound are, however, performed with longitudinal ultrasound waves.

Subsonic Lamb waves in anisotropic plates [PDF]
A six-dimensional complex formalism for analysis of Lamb waves propagating with subsonic speed in anisotropic plates is formulated. Conditions for nonexistence of certain Lamb waves in anisotropic plates are obtained. An example of a transversely isotropic plate having “forbidden” speed at which no subsonic Lamb wave propagates is presented.

Continuous debonding monitoring of a patch repaired helicopter stabilizer: damage assessment and analysis [PDF]
The present work focuses on the structural health monitoring of an aluminium vertical helicopter stabiliser with a pre-introduced crack which was repaired with an adhesively bonded composite patch.

A Lamb wave lens for acoustic microscopy [PDF]
In a conventional scanning acoustic microscope the excited leaky modes contribute significantly to the high contrast obtained in the images. However, all such modes exist simultaneously, and the interpretation of the images is not straightforward, especially in layered media.

Damage detection in a composite wind turbine blade using 3D scanning laser vibrometry [PDF]
As worldwide wind energy generation capacity grows, there is an increasing demand to ensure structural integrity of the turbine blades to maintain efficient and safe energy generation.

A graphic sensor based on the measurement of the propagation time of an acoustic wave train is described. Lamb waves are launched in a plate of ordinary glass by piezoelectric bars bonded to the edges of the plate. They are detected at their arrival under the tip of the drawing pencil by a small piezoelectric disc placed in the pencil body.

Quasi Two-dimensional Transfer of Elastic Waves
A theory for multiple scattering of elastic waves is presented in a random medium bounded by two ideal free surfaces, whose horizontal size is infinite and whose transverse size is smaller than the mean free path of the waves.
