Lamiales: Introduction and Conspectus
2004Lamiales as presented here are a well-supported clade of the Lamiids (Bremer et al. 2002) found in all major, recent molecular studies of the Asterids (APG II 2003; see also Wagenitz 1992). The Lamiids, comprising approximately 23,600 species in 1140 genera, are herbaceous or less commonly woody plants with often opposite leaves.
