Searching for a Numerical Model for Prediction of Pressure-Swirl Atomizer Internal Flow

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
Numerical prediction of discharge parameters allows design of a pressure-swirl atomizer in a fast and cheap manner, yet it must provide reliable results for a wide range of geometries and operating regimes.

Passive control of wake flow behind a square cylinder using a flat plate

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2023
In this study, control over the wake flow of a single square cylinder exercised by a flat plate attached to the rear side of the cylinder is analyzed numerically via the lattice Boltzmann method.

Numerical Investigation of Heat Transfer Enhancement in a Microchannel with Conical-Shaped Reentrant Cavity

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
The current study is focused on improving the thermal performance of the microchannel heat sink (MCHS) using the passive reentrant cavity approach. The MCHS physical model’s single channel was used in a three-dimensional numerical simulation.

Laminar Chaos [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2018
We show that the output of systems with time-varying delay can exhibit a new kind of chaotic behavior characterized by laminar phases, which are periodically interrupted by irregular bursts. Within each laminar phase the output intensity remains almost constant, but its level varies chaotically from phase to phase.

Modeling of the flow and heat exchange in pipes with turbulators of viscous heat carriers in the laminar region, as well as in the transition to turbulent flow

open access: yesВестник Дагестанского государственного технического университета: Технические науки, 2023
Objective. Mathematical modeling of heat transfer in pipes with turbulators for viscous heat carriers at Reynolds numbers characteristic of laminar and transient flow regimes is carried out by the calculation method.

Generalized laminar matroids [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Combinatorics, 2019
Nested matroids were introduced by Crapo in 1965 and have appeared frequently in the literature since then. A flat of a matroid $M$ is Hamiltonian if it has a spanning circuit. A matroid $M$ is nested if and only if its Hamiltonian flats form a chain under inclusion; $M$ is laminar if and only if, for every $1$-element independent set $X$, the ...

2-Hydroxy-Docosahexaenoic Acid Is Converted Into Heneicosapentaenoic Acid via α-Oxidation: Implications for Alzheimer’s Disease Therapy

open access: yesFrontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, 2020
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disease with as yet no efficient therapies, the pathophysiology of which is still largely unclear. Many drugs and therapies have been designed and developed in the past decade to stop or slow down this ...

Reducing drag on a flat plate subjected to incompressible laminar flow [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2019
The idea behind this work comes from the question: What is the impact of plate corrugations on drag? In this context, a numerical study of laminar incompressible flow over a flat plate and over corrugated plates is carried out.

Numerical Study on Heat Transfer and Pressure Drop in a Mini-‎Channel with Corrugated Walls‎ [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied and Computational Mechanics, 2021
This study presents the numerical results relative to the development of heat transfer and pressure drop inside a corrugated channel, under constant heat flux conditions applied to the walls; the working fluid is air.
