Advanced Design of a Full-Scale Active Morphing Droop Nose
This paper describes the design of a morphing droop nose conceived to increase the performance in high-lift conditions of a twin-prop regional aircraft, while ensuring the natural flow laminarity of the wing.

A new kind of dynamo utilizing flowing laboratory plasmas has been identified. The conversion of plasma kinetic energy to magnetic energy is verified numerically by kinematic dynamo simulations for magnetic Reynolds numbers above 210. As opposed to intrinsically-turbulent liquid-sodium dynamos, the proposed plasma dynamo corresponds to laminar flow ...

Ultra-low emmittance proton beams from a laser-virtual cathode plasma accelerator [PDF]
The laminarity of high current multi-MeV proton beams produced by irradiating thin metallic foils with ultra-intense lasers has been measured. For proton energies >10 MeV, the transverse and longitudinal emittance are respectively 10 MeV.

Neurovascular Contacts in the Pathophysiology of Neuralgic Amyotrophy: An Observational Study
ABSTRACT Objective Neuralgic amyotrophy (NA) is a prevalent, monophasic, multifocal immune‐mediated neuropathy. A distinctive characteristic of the disease is the occurrence of nerve or fascicle constrictions and torsions (NA‐associated focal nerve lesions, NAFL). The pathophysiology underlying this phenomenon remains to be fully elucidated.

Ball Bearing Fault Diagnosis Using Recurrence Analysis [PDF]
This paper presents the problem of rolling bearing fault diagnosis based on vibration velocity signal. For this purpose, recurrence plots and quantification methods are used for nonlinear signals.

A combined finite element and phase‐field approach predicts the evolution of microstructure during the directional solidification of Ni‐based superalloys. The model reveals how withdrawal rate, temperature gradient, and wall thickness control the dendrite spacing, highlighting the strong effect of surface regions in thin sections where dendrite growth ...

Formation of Laminar Electron Flow for a High-Power Sub-THz Gyrotron [PDF]
This paper describes the design of a magnetron-injection gun for a 100kW, 300 GHz gyrotron. With an increase in power and frequency, performance of the gyrotron becomes quite sensitive to the quality of the electron beam.
