Laminar recurrences, maxline, unstable singularities and biological dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Recurrence quantification analysis can reveal subtle aspects of dynamics not easily appreciated by other methods such as the Fourier transform. Laminarity and maxline are two RQA variables that can demonstrate the presence of unstable singularities which

Study 2: Dynamic organization of body motion and personality traits in individual settings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
This study aims to integrate enactive, embodied and complex systems perspectives to the study of personality. We conducted a laboratory study where participants (N=105) were asked to talk about themselves over three different topics (Introduction, Bodily

A Simplified Laminar Flow Model for the Pultrusion of Glass Fiber/Polyethylene Terephthalate Commingled Yarns

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A simplified thermoplastic pultrusion model is developed to predict thermal fields in glass fiber/polyethylene terephthalate (GF/PET) composites with reduced computational cost. By combining effective material homogenization, validation against literature data, and Gaussian‐process‐based optimization, the study reveals how heating limits, pulling speed,

Influence of Loss of Laminarity on the Aerodynamic Characteristics of the NLF F100 Airfoil. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
From the geometry of the laminar glove of the Fokker F100 a two-dimensional wing section has been derived. For various flow conditions (M- and Re-number) the influence of loss of laminarity on the airfoil performance has been studied numerically by ...

p-values from ANOVA (overall) and Bonferroni-corrected post hoc multiple comparisons to test for differences among bones. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Significant p-values indicated by bold type. LI, laminarity index; J/(L*M), polar moment of area standardized to bone length × body mass; Imax/Imin, ratio of maximum to minimum second moment of area; CA/TA, cortical area to total area; D1P1, Digit 1 ...

Workflow for Design of Experiments‐Based Modeling of Species Transport and Growth Kinetics in GaN Hydride Vapor Phase Epitaxy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A novel workflow for investigating hydride vapor phase epitaxy for GaN bulk crystal growth is proposed. It combines Design of experiments (DoE) with physical simulations of mass transport and crystal growth kinetics, serving as an intermediate step between DoE and experiments.

Encyclopedia of 2D β′‐In2Se3 Growth Using Chemical Vapor Deposition: The Effects of Synthesis Parameters Onto Material Quality

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A distinct semi‐confined inner‐tube chemical vapor deposition geometry enables reproducible, large‐area growth of phase‐pure 2D β′‐In2Se3 from InI + Se precursors. Engineering local vapor transport and optimizing precursor delivery and temperature–time conditions yield uniform continuous films.

Dual-Task Gait Stability after Concussion and Subsequent Injury: An Exploratory Investigation

open access: yesSensors, 2020
Persistent gait alterations can occur after concussion and may underlie future musculoskeletal injury risk. We compared dual-task gait stability measures among adolescents who did/did not sustain a subsequent injury post-concussion, and uninjured ...

From Shear to Sound: Mechanics–Acoustics Mapping of TPMS Lattices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) lattices are mapped across mechanical and acoustic performance, revealing that descriptors validated in compression fail under shear. First‐time comparison with trusses included. A transition from porous to resonance‐driven absorption emerges at 25% density.
