Modelling the Lamination Process for Ruggedised Displays

open access: yes, 2005
Active matrix liquid crystal displays (AMLCD) need to be protected in severe environments. This is achieved through a ruggedisation process, where the display is laminated with cover glasses to become a more robust structure.

Thermoplastic Dielectric Coatings for Flexible Electrodynamic Dust Shields: Structural and Functional Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Thermoplastic attachment is introduced as a scalable surface coating strategy to improve the durability and dielectric reliability of flexible electrodynamic dust shields. By embedding chemically modified reduced graphene oxide (CMrGO) electrodes within thermoplastic laminates, mechanical degradation, abrasion damage, and vacuum‐induced electrical ...

Rb is required for retinal angiogenesis and lamination

open access: yes, 2018
Retinoblastoma tumor suppressor (Rb) promotes cell cycle exit, survival, differentiation, and tumor suppression in the retina. Here, we show it is also essential for vascularization and lamination.

Two‐Way Shape Memory Polymer Composite Gripper for Adaptive Robotic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A two‐way shape memory polymer (SMP) composite is developed with intrinsic shape‐changing capability driven solely by temperature, eliminating external actuation loads. Embedding the SMP in a low‐stiffness elastomeric matrix enabled reversible transformations during heating and cooling cycles.

Skin‐Like Tri‐Modal Sensors Based on Soft Piezoelectric and Ionic Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Inspired by the multimodal perception of human skin, a soft, skin‐like tri‐modal sensor is presented. The device incorporates an ionically conductive, piezoelectric, elastic composite as its active layer, enabling independent detection of temperature, static strain, and dynamic strain within a single two‐terminal architecture.
