Antibiotic resistance landscapes: a quantification of theory-data incompatibility for fitness landscapes [PDF]
Fitness landscapes are central in analyzing evolution, in particular for drug resistance mutations for bacteria and virus. We show that the fitness landscapes associated with antibiotic resistance are not compatible with any of the classical models; additive, uncorrelated and block fitness landscapes. The NK model is also discussed.

A Guide for Physical Development [PDF]
Over the past year the campus for the new Governors State University in Park Forest South has been under study. It has been investigated not just from the standpoint of how the physical characteristics of the site will eventually accommodate structures ...

The Transcriptional Landscape of the Yeast Genome Defined by RNA Sequencing
The identification of untranslated regions, introns, and coding regions within an organism remains challenging. We developed a quantitative sequencing-based method called RNA-Seq for mapping transcribed regions, in which complementary DNA fragments are ...

Transcriptome‐wide analysis of circRNA and RBP profiles and their molecular relevance for GBM
CircRNAs are differentially expressed in glioblastoma primary tumors and might serve as therapeutic targets and diagnostic markers. The investigation of circRNA and RNA‐binding proteins (RBPs) interactions shows that distinct RBPs play a role in circRNA biogenesis and function.

Landscape Boolean Functions [PDF]
In this paper we define a class of Boolean and generalized Boolean functions defined on $\mathbb{F}_2^n$ with values in $\mathbb{Z}_q$ (mostly, we consider $q=2^k$), which we call landscape functions (whose class containing generalized bent, semibent ...

The transcriptional landscape of polyploid wheat
Insights from the annotated wheat genome Wheat is one of the major sources of food for much of the world. However, because bread wheat's genome is a large hybrid mix of three separate subgenomes, it has been difficult to produce a high-quality reference ...

Exploration of heterogeneity and recurrence signatures in hepatocellular carcinoma
This study leveraged public datasets and integrative bioinformatic analysis to dissect malignant cell heterogeneity between relapsed and primary HCC, focusing on intercellular communication, differentiation status, metabolic activity, and transcriptomic profiles.

Temporal True and Surrogate Fitness Landscape Analysis for Expensive Bi-Objective Optimisation [PDF]
Many real-world problems have expensive-to-compute fitness functions and are multi-objective in nature. Surrogate-assisted evolutionary algorithms are often used to tackle such problems. Despite this, literature about analysing the fitness landscapes induced by surrogate models is limited, and even non-existent for multi-objective problems.

Restaurantes peruanos en Santiago de Chile: construcción de un paisaje de la migración
The text addresses the relationship between migration, insertion strategies and transformations of urban space. It argues that the proliferation of Peruvian-cuisine restaurants in Santiago forms a landscape of migration that operates both as a ...
