Acentric langmuir-blodgett: film assemblies [PDF]
In recent years there has been considerable interest In the use of Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films as the basis of active and passive thin film devices. One such application is in room temperature, pyroelectric thermal imaging systems.

Dynamics of electron beams in the solar corona plasma with density fluctuations [PDF]
The problem of beam propagation in a plasma with small scale and low intensity inhomogeneities is investigated. It is shown that the electron beam propagates in a plasma as a beam-plasma structure and is a source of Langmuir waves.

Stabilizing Frustrated Phase Transitions in Selective Oxidation Reactions
Using multimodal operando spectromicroscopy, the frustrated phase transition responsible for selective oxidation over cobalt oxide spinel catalysts is identified, corresponding to combined surface reaction and Mars‐van Krevelen (MvK) dynamics. This regime is disrupted by the formation of mobile vacancies and the depletion of active oxygen at high ...

Spatiotemporal chaos and the dynamics of coupled Langmuir and ion-acoustic waves in plasmas
A simulation study is performed to investigate the dynamics of coupled Langmuir waves (LWs) and ion-acoustic waves (IAWs) in an unmagnetized plasma. The effects of dispersion due to charge separation and the density nonlinearity associated with the IAWs,

Spectroscopic ellipsometry in the Kretschmann‐Raether configuration (KRSE) is employed to characterize a DNA‐functionalized platform for viral sequence recognition. By merging SE with surface plasmon resonance, KRSE outperforms conventional SE, achieving nanomolar targeting through resonance wavelength shifts (δλ) measurements. Its enhanced interfacial

Electron and ion density depletions measured in the STS-3 orbiter wake [PDF]
The third Space Shuttle flight on Columbia carried instrumentation to measure thermal plasma density and temperature. Two separate investigations, the Plasma Diagnostics Package (PDP) and the Vehicle Charging and Potential Experiment (VCAP), carried a ...
