Often a patient is unable to define the problems he is presently experiencing. A six-step procedure is presented which allows the therapist to obtain a clear statement of problematic behavior. The technique described makes use of a combined behavioral-gestalt approach in the gathering of diagnostic information.

Using samples of Croatian L1 — English L2 speakers performing two picture description tasks (one in L1 and one in L2), the studies analysed their oral productions in order to identify a number of temporal and hesitation signals of planning processes.
