Masked divalent yttrium and gadolinium dinitrogen complexes mediate the fragmentation of white phosphorus, converting P4 into discrete dimetallic complexes of [P4]2– and [P2]2– ligands, and an unprecedented monatomic P2– radical ligand. Structural, spectroscopic, magnetic, and DFT studies reveal insight into the bonding between these unusual Pn units ...

Lanthanide-Complex-Enhanced Bioorthogonal Branched DNA Amplification
Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) is a widely used technique for detecting intracellular nucleic acids. However, its effectiveness in detecting low-copy nucleic acids is limited due to its low fluorescence intensity and background ...

Two lanthanide-containing structurally analogous porous coordination polymers (PCPs) have been isolated with the general molecular formula [Ln2(L1)2(H2O)4(ox)]n.4nH2O (where L1 = fumarate, ox = oxalate; Ln = Dy (1), Gd (2)).

Cobalt‐Catalyzed Radical Ligand Transfer (RLT) Enables Remote‐Markovnikov Hydroamination of Alkenes
A cobalt‐catalyzed remote‐Markovnikov 1,3‐hydroamination of allyl carboxylates proceeds through MHAT, 1,2‐radical acyloxy migration (1,2‐RAM), and radical ligand transfer (RLT) from a Co‐N intermediate, providing protected amino alcohols. ABSTRACT Amino alcohols are prevalent in pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and functional materials, yet ...

We discovered novel materials with giant dielectric constants by combining first‐principles phonon calculations and machine learning. Screening 525 perovskites identified six candidates. RbNbO3 was synthesized under pressure and showed ε ≈ 800–1000. This validates our framework as a powerful tool for high‐performance dielectric materials discovery.

Spin-Orbit Coupling Descriptions of Magnetic Excitations in Lanthanide Complexes
We present a number of computationally cost-effective approaches to calculate magnetic excitations (i.e. crystal field energies and magnetic anisotropies in the lowest spin-orbit multiplet) in lanthanide complexes.

Dual Activation of H2 and CO2 by a Pincer‐Type Ni–Zn Heterobimetallic Complex
A bimetallic Ni−Zn complex performs sequential activations of H2 (1 equiv) and CO2 (2 equiv). This bimetallic cooperativity is attributed to the weak Lewis acidic nature of Zn(II), which promotes fluxional ligand binding. Namely, an X‐type ligand at Ni, where X is hydride or formate, toggles between two different binding modes: bridging Zn(μ‐X)Ni and ...
