Lanthanide contraction in linear lanthanide–oxygen clusters
Five coordination polymers containing linear lanthanide–oxygen clusters 1–5 have been synthesized by a hydrothermal reaction of 3-(quinolin-8-yloxy) phthalic acid (H2L) with the respective lanthanide salt. The X-ray single crystal structural analyses revealed that these five crystalline materials belong to two isostructures with formulas [LnHL2(H2O)2]n

Luminescence tuning of MOFs via ligand to metal and metal to metal energy transfer by co-doping of 2∞[Gd2Cl6(bipy)3]*2bipy with europium and terbium [PDF]
The series of anhydrous lanthanide chlorides LnCl3, Ln=Pr–Tb, and 4,4'-bipyridine (bipy) constitute isotypic MOFs of the formula 2∞[Ln2Cl6(bipy)3]*2bipy.

Electrical and catalytic properties of some oxides with the fluorite or pyrochlore structure: Part 2: Catalytic oxidation of carbon monoxide [PDF]
The catalytic properties of mixed oxides with the fluorite or pyrochlore structure were investigated using CO oxidation. The presence of ions with a variable valence state, the size of the ions and especially the extent of pyrochlore ordering affect ...

Lanthanides in Methylotrophy [PDF]
Lanthanides were previously thought to be biologically inert owing to their low solubility; however, they have recently been shown to strongly impact the metabolism of methylotrophic bacteria. Leading efforts in this emergent field have demonstrated far-reaching impacts of lanthanide metabolism in biology; from the identification of novel roles of ...
