Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Peripheral lysosomes recruit PLEKHG3 to focal adhesions and restrain protrusion dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proximity‐dependent labeling at the LAMTOR complex revealed the Rho GEF PLEKHG3 as a lysosome‐proximal protein directing the study toward the influence of lysosome positioning on actin dynamics and cell motility. We show that PLEKHG3 colocalizes with lysosomes at focal adhesion sites and observe that forced peripheral dispersion of lysosomes hinders ...

Material removal mode of lapping Si3N4balls

open access: yesJin'gangshi yu moliao moju gongcheng, 2019
To explore the effect of grinding parameters on surface quality and the mechanism of material removal mode in lapping process, lapping experiment on Si3N4 bearing balls was carried out by vertical grinder.

A Study on Correcting Techniques for Recovering the Accracy of a Deteriorated Lapping Plate using a Correcting Carrier (Corrective Characteristics owing to Lapping Pressure Influence).

open access: yesJSME international journal. Ser. 3, Vibration, control engineering, engineering for industry, 1992
At present, the accuracy of a deteriorated lapping plate may be recovered by cutting and grinding, or by using a correcting carrier. A correcting carrier is simpler to use than the grinding method and is generally employed at many factories. How-ever, as the deteriorated condition of the lapping plate changes with machining conditions, optimal ...

Epigenetic reprogramming of lineage switching in cancer

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cancer cells rarely commit to a single identity. Epigenetic mechanisms and tumor microenvironment cues push epithelial cells toward flexible, hybrid states that can shift into mesenchymal, neuroendocrine, or stem‐like fates, driving metastasis, drug resistance, and tumor heterogeneity. Targeting the epigenetic regulators behind these transitions, using

Machining characteristics of single crystal SiC wafer with copper lapping pad

open access: yesJin'gangshi yu moliao moju gongcheng, 2016
The Siface and C face of 6H-SiC single crystal wafer were lapped by using the copper based lapping pad with spiral grooves and the effects of lapping pressure, pad speed and abrasive size on the material removal rate and the surface roughness of SiC were ...

Effects of Lapping Parameters and Slurry Type on Machining Performance of Sapphire Fairings with Controllable Texture Diamond Tools

open access: yesJournal of Applied Science and Engineering
Three diamond film tools with controllable texture were fabricated prepared by chemicalvapor deposition (CVD) method. Their surface quality was analysed, and the tools were innovatively used to lap sapphire fairing.

Golgi enzymes are retrieved from the plasma membrane to the trans‐Golgi network

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Golgi enzymes are traditionally considered resident proteins retained within the Golgi apparatus. Here, we demonstrate that a subset transiently reaches the cell surface and is subsequently retrieved to the trans‐Golgi network via retrograde transport. Using a nanobody‐based toolkit, we uncover a dynamic trafficking cycle of several Golgi enzymes.

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...
