Understanding and measuring mechanical signals in the tumor stroma

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review discusses cancer‐associated fibroblast subtypes and their functions, particularly in relation to extracellular matrix production, as well as the development of 3D models to study tumor stroma mechanics in vitro. Several quantitative techniques to measure tissue mechanical properties are also described, to emphasize the diagnostic and ...

Debiasing with Diffusion: Probabilistic Reconstruction of Dark Matter Fields from Galaxies with CAMELS

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Galaxies are biased tracers of the underlying cosmic web, which is dominated by dark matter (DM) components that cannot be directly observed. Galaxy formation simulations can be used to study the relationship between DM density fields and galaxy ...

On the Mass Dependence of the Inner Slopes of Dark Matter Density Profiles

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2014
We study through a semi-analytic model how the inner slopes of relaxed ΛCDM dark matter halos with and without baryons depend on the halo mass. We find that the inner logarithmic density slope, α ≡ d log ρ/d log r, of dark matter halos with baryons has a

Combinatorial Properties of Finite Models [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2010
We study countable embedding-universal and homomorphism-universal structures and unify results related to both of these notions. We show that many universal and ultrahomogeneous structures allow a concise description (called here a finite presentation).

Beyond digital twins: the role of foundation models in enhancing the interpretability of multiomics modalities in precision medicine

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review highlights how foundation models enhance predictive healthcare by integrating advanced digital twin modeling with multiomics and biomedical data. This approach supports disease management, risk assessment, and personalized medicine, with the goal of optimizing health outcomes through adaptive, interpretable digital simulations, accessible ...

Simulation of large-scale structure of Universe with Gaussian random fields

open access: yesВісник Астрономічної школи, 2017
Large-scale structure includes galaxy clusters connected by filaments. Voids occupy the rest of cosmic volume. In this work we simulated two-dimensional galaxy distribution using random distributions of clusters and single galaxies.

Fractal universe [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 1999
The model of the universe is considered in which background of the universe is not defined by the matter but is a priori specified as a homogenous and isotropic flat space. The scale factor of the universe follows the linear law. The scale of mass changes proportional to the scale factor. This leads to that the universe has the fractal structure with a

METTL3 knockout accelerates hepatocarcinogenesis via inhibiting endoplasmic reticulum stress response

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Liver‐specific knockout of N6‐methyladenosine (m6A) methyltransferase METTL3 significantly accelerated hepatic tumor initiation under various oncogenic challenges, contrary to the previously reported oncogenic role of METTL3 in liver cancer cell lines or xenograft models. Mechanistically, METTL3 deficiency reduced m6A deposition on Manf transcripts and

Structure of the Universe: An Approach Based on Gravitational Energy [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2002
An approach to modelling the universe based on the requisites of gravitational energy. This model is explained as it relates to the stages of the universal life cycle and the continued existence of the universe as it is known today. The article attempts to reconcile the most common problems with physical models of the universe and overcome doubt as to ...

Soman induces endoplasmic reticulum stress and apoptosis of cerebral organoids via the GRP78‐ATF6‐CHOP signaling pathway

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cerebral organoids were employed as a novel model to explore the neurotoxicity of soman. Soman inhibited acetylcholinesterase activity, increased cell apoptosis and upregulated endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress markers glucose‐regulated protein 78 (GRP78), activating transcription factor 6 (ATF6) and C/EBP homologous protein (CHOP).
