Large-effective-area uncoupled few-mode multi-core fiber [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Express, 2012
Characteristics of few-mode multi-core fiber (FM-MCF) were numerically analyzed and experimentally confirmed. The cores of FM-MCF were designed to support transmission of LP(01) and LP(11) modes from the point of bending loss of LP(11) and LP(21) modes. Inter-core crosstalk between LP(11) mode was calculated to determine core pitch of fibers.

Hybrid Ytterbium-doped large-mode-area photonic crystal fiber amplifier for long wavelengths. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A large-mode-area Ytterbium-doped photonic crystal fiber amplifier with build-in gain shaping is presented. The fiber cladding consists of a hexagonal lattice of air holes, where three rows are replaced with circular high-index inclusions.

Characteristics of Collimators Based on the Large-Mode-Area CMCF for Coupling Laser Beam

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
A new collimator based on a homemade concentric multilayer-core fiber (CMCF) is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. This collimator was fabricated using a tail fiber with large mode area and single-mode operation.

Mode degeneration in bent photonic crystal fiber study by using the finite element method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The development of highly dispersive lower and higher order cladding modes and their degeneration with respect to the fundamental core mode in a bent photonic crystal fiber is rigorously studied by use of the full-vectorial finite element method.

Toward a compact fibered squeezing parametric source

open access: yes, 2018
In this work, we investigate three different compact fibered systems generating vacuum squeezing that involve optical cavities limited by the end surface of a fiber and by a curved mirror and containing a thin parametric crystal.

Efficient strategy to increase higher order inter-modal stability of a step index multimode fiber [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We demonstrate a novel approach to enhance the mode stability through increased effective index difference (Δneff) between the higher-order modes (LP18, LP09 and LP19) of a multimode fiber.

A Detailed Study of a Resonant-Assisted Segmented Cladding Fiber for Large Mode Area Applications

open access: yesPhotonics
In this work, we have proposed and optimized a large mode area segmented cladding fiber (SCF) with an unconventional low-index segment cladding. The low-refractive-index cladding proposed in this paper consists of three parts.

Supercontinuum generation in large mode-area microstructured fibers

open access: yesOptics Express, 2005
Supercontinuum generation in large mode-area microstructured fibers is demonstrated by launching into the fiber ns pulses from a passively Q-switched Nd:YAG laser. The special properties of these fibers open the way to compact, single-mode, high-power supercontinuum sources with a low divergence of the output beam.

All-Glass Single-Mode Leakage Channel Microstructured Optical Fibers with Large Mode Area and Low Bending Loss

open access: yesPhotonics, 2023
The paper presents the results of theoretical and experimental studies of all-glass leakage channel microstructured optical fibers (MOFs) with a large mode area and low bending losses. These MOFs contain two layers of fluorine-doped silica glass elements

Polarization maintaining large mode area photonic crystal fiber

open access: yesOptics Express, 2004
We report on a polarization maintaining large mode area photonic crystal fiber. Unlike, previous work on polarization maintaining photonic crystal fibers, birefringence is introduced using stress applying parts. This has allowed us to realize fibers, which are both single mode at any wavelength and have a practically constant birefringence for any ...
