The Influence of Difference Temperature Against the Rate of Embryonic Development and Larval Abnormality of Cantik Grouper (Epinephelus SP.) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Cantikgrouper is the hybridization results grouper or cross-breeding between Epinephelus fuscoguttatus as a female and Epinephelus microdon as a male.

Incorporation of Radioiodine into the Developing Endostyle of the Larval Lamprey. (developing endostyle/radioiodine-incorporation/larval lamprey) [PDF]

open access: yesDevelopment, Growth and Differentiation, 1982
Incorporation of radioiodine (131 I- ) into small larvae of the Japanese river lamprey, 14 days after fertilization, was studied by radioautography. A small amount of radioiodine was incorporated into the larvae and became located in the mid-dorsal region of endostylar cells.

Tailored Organogel Systems for Optimized Pesticide Delivery: Mechanistic Insights and Agricultural Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Utilizing molecular engineering for network design, three pesticide‐loaded organogels (PLOs) carriers exhibiting varying degrees of flexibility were prepared. The mechanical properties of these carriers, tunable via their network molecular structures, enhance their structural adaptability and retention stability at biological interfaces, thereby ...

Genomic Analysis of Drosophila Neuronal Remodeling: A Role for the RNA-Binding Protein Boule as a Negative Regulator of Axon Pruning [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Drosophila mushroom body (MB) {gamma} neurons undergo axon pruning during metamorphosis through a process of localized degeneration of specific axon branches.

Systematic Engineering of Proteases in Saccharopolyspora Spinosa Reveals Synergistic Enhancement of Spinosad Biosynthesis via Substrate Flux Optimization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ARTP mutagenesis yielded Saccharopolyspora spinosa mutant D184 with improved extracellular nitrogen utilization. An integrated workflow of protease genetic manipulation, multi‐omics, and rational synergy design pinpointed a pepP‐clpP‐htpX synergistic triangular combination.

18β‐Glycyrrhetinic Acid and a Nano‐Liposomal Formulation Alleviate Depression‐Like Behaviors via the Microglial mTOR‐Autophagy‐NLRP3 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using a novel zebrafish‐based inflammatory screening strategy, we screened and identified 18β‐glycyrrhetinic acid (18β‐GA) as a promising anti‐inflammatory candidate. We uncover a microglial mTOR–autophagy–NLRP3 axis that constitutes the mechanistic core of 18β‐GA–mediated neuroprotection.

Larval Development and Metamorphosis in Sipuncula [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Zoologist, 1976
In a brief review of development of the phylum Sipuncula, four patterns of development are recognized: (1) direct with no pelagic stage; (2) one larval stage, a lecithotrophic trochophore; (3) two larval stages, a lecithotrophic trochophore and a lecithotrophic pelagosphera; (4) two larval stages, a lecithotrophic trochophore and a planktotrophic ...

Deciphering the Evolution Pattern of Structural Variations Overlapped With Repetitive Sequence During Cattle Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The authors complement bovine pan‐SV with massive novel structural variations (SVs) identified through long‐read sequencing of 83 globally distributed cattle breeds. Repetitive sequence‐mediated SVs (rep‐SV) exhibit distinct dynamic patterns throughout cattle sub‐speciation and/or domestication processes, including uneven distribution between chr‐X and

Deep Volumetric Super‐Resolution Imaging in Thick Biological Specimens With Sparse Scanning SIM

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sparse scanning structured illumination microscopy (SS‐SIM) extends the axial depth in super‐resolution fluorescence imaging by combining rapid laser scanning, pixel‐addressed intensity modulation, and sCMOS camera detection. SS‐SIM yields 1.6× lateral and 1.7× axial resolution gains over wide‐field microscopy and enables imaging through 300–600 µm ...
