Properties for Sourcing Nigerian Larvicidal Plants [PDF]
Aedes aegypti is the primary vector of chikungunya, yellow and dengue fevers. Dengue fever is the major cause of child morbidity and hospitalisation in some Asian and African countries, while yellow fever is prevalent in Nigeria. The development of resistance to the available insecticides has necessitated the continued search for safer ones from plants.

This study discusses a promising new attractive targeted sugar bait (ATSB) technology using yeast that expresses shRNA targeting essential genes in the fruit pest spotted‐wing drosophila (SWD). The yeast, which is delivered using soda as a sugar bait, could one day be an effective component in integrated SWD control programs.

Vector control for the chikungunya disease: chemical control versus biological control: a mathematical point of view. [PDF]
The aim of this talk is to present recent investigations on the Chikungunya Disease that hitted Réunion Island, a French territory in Indian Ocean, in 2005 and 2006. Chikungunya is a vectorborne Disease, usually localized in Asia and East-Africa. In 2005,

Biocidal potential of Eugenia pyriformis essential oil in the control of Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus in the free-living cycle [PDF]
: Brazil has one of the largest commercial cattle herds in the world, which naturally coexist with an enormous number of parasitic species. Southern cattle tick, Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus, is among these species, interfering with animal ...
