Toxic Effects of Lasalocid in Horses

American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1981
SUMMARY Lasalocid was given to horses in a series of sequentially increasing single oral doses ranging between 5 and 30 mg/kg of body weight, with an appropriate washout period between treatments. One of 5 horses died after a dosage of 15 mg/kg, 1 of 3 horses died after 21 mg/kg, 1 of 3 horses died after 22 mg/kg, and 1 of 2 horses died after 26 mg/kg.

Accidental poisoning of 17 dogs with lasalocid

Veterinary Record, 2004
Over a period of 10 days, 17 dogs became weak and developed neurological deficits of different degrees of severity. About 12 hours before these clinical signs appeared they had all eaten a particular brand of commercial dog food from a recently opened bag. They were all quadriparetic and hyporeflexic, and some of them also showed additional systemic or

Solution conformation of lasalocid and lasalocid-Na+ (X-537A)

Bioorganic Chemistry, 1976
Abstract The complete unraveling of the proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectra at high field strength of Lasalocid ( 1 ) and its sodium salt ( 2 ) in different solvents allowed the definition of their solution conformations. The free acid, a lozengeshaped molecule of 17 × 13 × 9 A is prefolded in a way almost identical to that of its sodium ...

Spectrofluorometric Determination of the Antibiotic Lasalocid in Blood

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1975
A spectrofluorometric assay was developed for the determination of the antibiotic lasalocid in dog blood, based on the intrinsic fluorescence of the compound in ethyl acetate. The assay can measure "total" levels of drug and any metabolites present. The specificity of the assay was verified by TLC separation of the dog blood extract, which indicated ...

Safety of lasalocid in turkeys and its compatibility with tiamulin

Veterinary Record, 1988
An investigation involving 640 turkeys demonstrated that the inclusion of lasalocid continuously from day-old to 16 weeks of age, at levels up to 375 ppm in the feed, produced no adverse effects; furthermore, the inclusion of 125 ppm lasalocid in the feed was compatible with the administration of 250 ppm tiamulin in the drinking water continuously for ...
