Aggregation of lasalocid A in membranes: a fluorescence study
The aggregation behavior of the carboxylic ionophore, lasalocid A, has been studied in egg phosphatidylcholine vesicles by monitoring the intrinsic fluorescence of lasalocid A. Self quenching of lasalocid A fluorescence in vesicles of egg phosphatidylcholine suggests aggregation of lasalocid A.

Development of an ELISA for lasalocid and depletion kinetics of lasalocid residues in poultry
Food Additives and Contaminants, 1995Polyclonal antibodies against the coccidiostat, lasalocid, were raised in sheep. The antisera were applied in an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for lasalocid, which was validated for chicken serum, liver and muscle. Bridge homology in the ELISA was overcome by absorbing unspecific antisera onto a conjugate between salinomycin and chicken ...

Effect of Lasalocid on Fall-Calving Beef Cows
The effects of lasalocid on fall-calving beef cows were examined in a 196-d trial that began October 12, 1983. Forty-two crossbred cow-calf pairs were stratified to six groups by breed, calving date and sex of calf. Three replications of each of two treatments, 0 and 200 mg lasalocid X head-1 X d-1, were used. The cows were fed a combination of haylage

Performance of beef heifers supplemented with sodium lasalocid
Tropical Animal Health and Production, 2016This study was conducted on 78 13-month-old crossbred beef heifers that weighed 215 kg in Southern Rio Grande do Sul (RS) State, Brazil. We evaluated the performance of beef heifers that were reared in a pasture system that received a mineral supplement energy-type protein with added sodium lasalocid (LAS).

Toxic Effects of Lasalocid in Horses
American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1981SUMMARY Lasalocid was given to horses in a series of sequentially increasing single oral doses ranging between 5 and 30 mg/kg of body weight, with an appropriate washout period between treatments. One of 5 horses died after a dosage of 15 mg/kg, 1 of 3 horses died after 21 mg/kg, 1 of 3 horses died after 22 mg/kg, and 1 of 2 horses died after 26 mg/kg.
