Laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy at endoscopy

SPIE Proceedings, 1994
A spectrofluorometry system has been developed for the collection of laser induced fluorescense spectra of tissue during endoscopy. In this system, a catheter with seven optical fibers was used to deliver the excitation light and collect the emitted fluorescence.

Laser induced fluorescence spectroscopy of 142NdO

Journal of Molecular Spectroscopy, 2004
Abstract Laser induced fluorescence spectra of 142NdO have been excited using both fixed frequency argon ion and tunable ring dye lasers and detected at high resolution with a Fourier transform spectrometer. Nine low lying electronic states resulting from the Nd2+(4f36s)O2− configuration were detected of which four, the second lowest Ω =2 , 3 ...

Laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy of NiS

Chemical Physics Letters, 2004
Abstract In this Letter, the laser-induced florescence excitation spectrum of NiS in the range of 495–555 nm has been observed for first time. The NiS molecular was produced in a supersonic free jet expansion by reacting dc discharge-sputtering nickel atoms with CS2.

Laser-Induced Fluorescence Spectroscopy

Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Clinics of North America, 1994
Lasers have been a part of medicine and surgery since the late 1960s. In the past 5 years, however, there has been growing interest in using lasers as diagnostic devices, an area of research that has been termed optical diagnostics. Optical diagnostic techniques seek to provide diagnostic information about tissue by using light in a probing, yet ...

Laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy of CrS

Chemical Physics Letters, 2001
Abstract CrS molecules were produced in a supersonic free jet expansion by reacting laser ablated chromium atoms and carbon disulfide. High-resolution laser-induced fluorescence spectrum between 625 and 825 nm was recorded. Six bands have been observed, which display the rotational structure of a Ω ′ =−1 ← Ω″=−1 transition. Isotopic

Laser-Induced Fluorescence: Spectroscopy in the Sky

Optics and Photonics News, 2007
Scientists are using laser-induced fluorescence to assess temperature and wind in a largely unstudied layer of the Earth's atmosphere. Their results are crucial to our understanding of solar-terrestrial relations and lay the groundwork for studies of global warming and atmospheric turbulence.

Laser-Induced Fluorescence Spectroscopy in Flames

Progress in Energy and Combustion Science, 1980
The use of laser induced fluorescence spectroscopy (LIF) is described for making measurements in the combustion environment. Some background in molecular structure, spectroscopic concepts, thermodynamics and combustion chemistry is first presented. This is followed by application of the rate equations to model and demonstrate the response of atomic and

Laser-induced fluorescence and fluorescence depletion spectroscopy of SCCS−

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2003
In a discharged supersonic jet of carbon disulfide, a band system of a new species is observed by laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) spectroscopy. Rotationally resolved spectra show that the observed electronic transition is Π23/2−Π23/2. Since both sulfur and carbon atoms have even numbers of electrons, it is concluded that the spectral carrier is an ...

Near infrared laser induced fluorescence spectroscopy of RuC

Journal of Molecular Spectroscopy, 2014
Abstract Four electronic transition systems, namely, the [12.7] 3 Π 2 – [0.1] 3 Δ 3 , the [13.5] 3 Φ 3 – [0.9] 3 Δ 2 , the [13.9] 3 Φ 4 – [0.1] 3 Δ 3 , and the [13.9] 3 Π 1 – [0.9] 3 Δ 2 transitions of the ruthenium monocarbide molecule (RuC) were recorded and analyzed using laser vaporization/reaction supersonic free jet expansion and high ...

Resonance fluorescence spectroscopy in laser-induced cavitation bubbles

Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, 2006
Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) in liquids using a double-pulse Q-switched Nd:YAG laser system has provided reliable results that give trace detection limits in water. Resonant laser excitation has been added to enhance detection sensitivity.
