Monochromatic light measurement via geometric phase and Fourier-transform spectroscopy method

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
The paper introduces a method for the measurement of monochromatic light using the geometric phase shift in a polarizing interferometer and applying the Fourier transform spectroscopy method.

An intracellular transporter mitigates the CO2‐induced decline in iron content in Arabidopsis shoots

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study identifies a gene encoding a transmembrane protein, MIC, which contributes to the reduction of shoot Fe content observed in plants under elevated CO2. MIC is a putative Fe transporter localized to the Golgi and endosomal compartments. Its post‐translational regulation in roots may represent a potential target for improving plant nutrition ...

A Cre‐dependent lentiviral vector for neuron subtype‐specific expression of large proteins

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We designed a versatile and modular lentivector comprising a Cre‐dependent switch and self‐cleaving 2A peptide and tested it for co‐expression of GFP and a 2.8 kb gene of interest (GOI) in mouse cortical parvalbumin (PV+) interneurons and midbrain dopamine (TH+) neurons.

Implementation of Ag/ SiO2 nanofilms for metamaterial engineering

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2022
Low dimensions of the nanostructured thin films are essential in applications of miniaturized optical systems. Noble metal thin films of different thicknesses (4–10 nm) were obtained by radio frequency magnetron sputtering (rfMS) with controlled ...

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

The Impact of Postoperative Intravenous Iron Therapy on Clinical Outcomes in Surgical Patients with Iron-Deficiency Anemia: A Comparative Analysis by Frailty Status in the Setting of Elective Cardiac Surgery

open access: yesMedicina
Background and Objectives: This study aimed to comparatively investigate the impact of postoperative intravenous iron therapy (IVIT) as an add-on to preoperative IVIT on clinical outcomes in frail versus non-frail patients with iron-deficiency anemia ...

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.
