Hybrid Metal–Carbon Ink for Printed Stretchable Temperature Sensors
We prepare conductive inks for temperature sensing with silver flakes and carbon or graphite flakes in a silicone elastomer matrix. Silver dominates the temperature‐dependent conductivity, while the carbon filler network ensures the stability of the conductive pathways and retains function under strain.

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Method for welding at high processing speed with polarised laser beam
A new high speed laser welding method is presented which has the following characteristics: - the welding speed is up to ten times higher than in conventional laser beam welding - the band edges have to be formed in a convex cone - the direction of the ...

High-resolution 3D-printed reflective micro-collimators for facet-emitting mid-infrared lasers [PDF]
Highly divergent and asymmetric beam profiles are an inherent limitation of facet-emitting mid-infrared semiconductor lasers and complicate their use in free-space optical systems.

Control of Polarization and Polar Helicity in BiFeO3 by Epitaxial Strain and Interfacial Chemistry
In BiFeO3 thin films, the interplay of interfacial chemistry, electrostatics, and epitaxial strain is engineered to stabilize homohelicity in polarization textures at the domain scale. The synergistic use of a Bi2O2‐terminated Aurivillius buffer layer and a highly anisotropic compressive epitaxial strain offers new routes to control the polar‐texture ...

The development of a laser detonator system [PDF]
© Cranfield University, 2014Laser detonators offer several advantages over traditional electrical detonators, such as exploding bridgewire and slapper detonators, in terms of both safety and performance.

Adaptive electron beam shaping using a photoemission gun and spatial light modulator
The need for precisely defined beam shapes in photoelectron sources has been well established. In this paper, we use a spatial light modulator and simple shaping algorithm to create arbitrary, detailed transverse laser shapes with high fidelity.
