Laser displacement sensor with application to gravitational radiation detection
Applied Optics, 1980The principles of operation of a novel laser displacement sensor are described. The intended application of the sensor is to measure displacements induced by gravitational radiation. The laser sensor is composed of three coupled cavities, defined by two laser mirrors and the mirrors of a Fabry-Perot etalon placed inside the laser cavity.

Temperature Compensation of Laser Triangular Displacement Sensor
2019 Chinese Automation Congress (CAC), 2019The measurement precision of the laser triangulation displacement sensor will be decreased with temperature, its application areas have been restricted for a long time. Three main factors affecting measurement accuracy were analyzed and two algorithms were proposed in this paper to compensate for the temperature error.

Integration of vision and laser displacement sensor for efficient and precise digitizing
Proceedings of 1994 IEEE International Conference on MFI '94. Multisensor Fusion and Integration for Intelligent Systems, 1996This paper presents a new digitizing technique which integrates computer vision methods, such as the photometric stereo approach, with the laser displacement sensors (LDS). The curvature at each point of the surface can be measured cost-effectively by the photometric stereo approach.

Calibration for Kinematic Parameters of Industrial Robot by a Laser Displacement Sensor
2018 15th International Conference on Control, Automation, Robotics and Vision (ICARCV), 2018The equipment used in kinematic calibration schemes is generally expensive and time-consuming, and requires skilled engineers. This paper proposes a new measurement method for identifying kinematic errors on a six degree of freedom industrial robot with a single laser displacement sensor.

High-dynamic angle measurement based on laser displacement sensors
Applied Optics, 2013It is currently difficult to achieve good real-time dynamic angle measurements with high accuracy and large ranges. In this paper, a photoelectric measurement method for dynamic angles based on three laser displacement sensors (LDSs) is proposed. Offline, a dynamic angle vision measurement model is established, and the system is calibrated by using a ...

Lasers with optical feedback as displacement sensors
Optical Engineering, 1995An interferometric displacement sensor with useful properties has been built based on a laser with optical feedback from light that is backscattered by a moving object. Information about the object's motion is encoded in the phase of the backscattered light, which in turn influences the phase and the amplitude of the laser via injection-locking physics.

Laser-speckle angular-displacement sensor: theoretical and experimental study
Applied Optics, 1998A novel, to our knowledge, method for the measurement of angular displacement for arbitrarily shaped objects is presented in which the angular displacement is perpendicular to the optical axis. The method is based on Fourier-transforming the scattered field from a single laser beam that illuminates the target.

Characterization of a chromatic confocal displacement sensor integrated with an optical laser head
Applied Optics, 2021In this paper, the results of experimental characterization of an optical system consisting of a chromatic confocal displacement sensor integrated with an optical laser head are presented. As a result of integration, the part of the optical path of the displacement sensor was combined with the optical path of the laser beam.

Injection Locked Lasers as Surface Displacement Sensors
1995In an age where engineered materials are becoming common place in the competitive world market, the manufacturer using engineered materials can not afford to waste material in the manufacturing process. The quality control techniques must become real time and on-line to reduce material waste and to reject unacceptable components before complex ...
