Research on laser source drift with temperature of laser triangular displacement sensor

Ninth International Symposium on Precision Mechanical Measurements, 2019
Laser triangular displacement sensor (LTDS) is widely used in various high-precision measurement scenarios, but the accuracy of the sensor will be distinctly reduced in a working environment with extreme temperature. The mechanical structure, optical crystal and illuminant of the sensor will be distorted or drifted due to the impact of temperature ...

Dual-polarization fiber grating laser displacement sensor

SPIE Proceedings, 2009
A high sensitivity displacement sensor based on a dual-polarization fiber grating laser incorporated with a cantilever beam is demonstrated. The cantilever beam transforms the displacement into a transverse force to the fiber grating laser which changes the fiber birefringence and therefore the polarization mode beat frequency of the laser.

Bearing fault detection using laser displacement sensor

Proceedings of the 35th SICE Annual Conference. International Session Papers, 2005
This paper describes a vibration monitoring methodology for rolling element bearings based on using laser displacement sensor technology. This new method not only has feature of discontiguous measurement, but also installs laser sensor easily. It can overcome the defects that installation of accelerometer sensor is very diffculty as to old machinery or

A Laser Polarimetric Sensor for Measuring Angular Displacements of Objects

Proceedings of European Meeting on Lasers and Electro-Optics CLEOE-96, 1996
One of the promising applications of laser autocollimating polarimetric sensors is measuring angular displacements of objects. For this purpose a parallel-sided plate, cut out of a birefringent crystal, and a retroreflector are mounted onto the object.

Study on precision optimization method for laser displacement sensors

AOPC 2017: 3D Measurement Technology for Intelligent Manufacturing, 2017
As the development of the measuring technology, laser displacement sensors become the most commonly used ones in the field of dimensional metrology as a result of their versatility and mature technology. However, as the differences of environment conditions and the variation of measured surfaces, the measuring errors of the laser displacement sensor ...

Design of a chromatic confocal displacement sensor integrated with an optical laser head

Applied Optics, 2020
In this paper, the methodology for design of the system consisting of chromatic confocal displacement sensor integrated with an optical laser head was presented. Furthermore, the results of experimental characterization of optical components of the laser head were also included in the numerical analysis.

Application of laser sensors for on-line calibration of displacement transducers

SPIE Proceedings, 2010
On-line calibration is widely used no matter in science research or industrial production. In this paper, an on-line calibration approach for industrial displacement transducers has been developed. We used laser displacement sensor as standard and improved its accuracy to meet the requirements in different applications.

Confocal laser displacement sensor using a micro-machined varifocal mirror

Applied Optics, 2017
A confocal laser displacement sensor using a micro-machined varifocal mirror is reported. The focal length modulation is a key function of the confocal sensor. The mechanism of the focal length modulation determines the measurement speed and range. Here, we propose application of the micro-machined varifocal mirror for the modulation.

System identification of mechanomyograms detected with an acceleration sensor and a laser displacement meter

2011 Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2011
The purpose of this study is to investigate the transfer functions of mechanomyograms (MMGs) detected with an acceleration sensor and a laser displacement meter. The MMGs evoked by electrical stimulation to the peroneal nerve were recorded on the skin of the tibial anterior muscle.

Laser-based fabrication of a displacement sensor with an integrated high-accuracy position sensor

SPIE Proceedings, 2006
We present a high-accuracy force or displacement sensor made only of fused silica. This device merges integrated optics and micro-mechanics in a monolithic substrate. It differs from previous micro force sensor works in that the measured variable is acquired optically, rather than electrically.
