Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

First in vitro cell co-culture experiments using laser-induced high-energy electron FLASH irradiation for the development of anti-cancer therapeutic strategies

open access: yesScientific Reports
Radiation delivery at ultrahigh dose rates (UHDRs) has potential for use as a new anticancer therapeutic strategy. The FLASH effect induced by UHDR irradiation has been shown to maintain antitumour efficacy with a reduction in normal tissue toxicity ...

Laser-Generated Plasmas

open access: yesIEEE Conference Record - Abstracts. 2005 IEEE International Conference on Plasma Science, 2005
Summary form only given. Hot plasmas can be generated by fast and intense laser pulses ablating solids placed in vacuum. A Nd:YAG laser, operating at fundamental and second harmonic, emitting 9 ns pulses with a maximum energy of 900 mJ, focused on metallic surfaces, produces high ablation yields, of the order of mug/pulse, and dense plasmas which ...

Effect of the Laser Wave Front in a Laser-Plasma Accelerator [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review X, 2015
A high repetition rate electron source was generated by tightly focusing kHz, few-mJ laser pulses into an underdense plasma. This high intensity laser-plasma interaction led to stable electron beams over several hours but with strikingly complex transverse distributions even for good quality laser focal spots.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

IDENTIFIKASI UNSUR NIKEL DENGAN TEKNIK LASER INDUCED PLASMA (LIP) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The line spectral of Ni element has been obtained for high and low concentration using Laser Induced Plasma (LIP) method. Focusing of high power pulse laser without pre treatment on the sample generates the Ni plasma contributed to atomic emission.

Laser plasma diagnostics of dense plasmas [PDF]

open access: yesSPIE Proceedings, 1995
The authors describe several experiments on Nova that use laser-produced plasmas to generate x-rays capable of backlighting dense, cold plasmas (p {approximately} 1--3 gm/cm{sup 3}, kT {approximately} 5--10 eV, and areal density {rho}{ell}{approximately} 0.01--0.05 g/cm{sup 2}).

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...
