Enhanced efficiency in 808 nm GaAs laser power converters via gradient doping
Two batches of GaAs laser power converters (LPCs) with or without a localized gradient doping layer were fabricated via metalorganic chemical vapor deposition for converting the power of 808 nm lasers.

Efficient and spectrally bright source of polarization-entangled photons
We demonstrate an efficient fiber-coupled source of nondegenerate polarization entangled photons at 795 and 1609 nm using bidirectionally pumped parametric down-conversion in bulk periodically poled lithium niobate. The single-mode source has an inferred

β‐Catenin/c‐Myc Axis Modulates Autophagy Response to Different Ammonia Concentrations
Ammonia, detoxified by the liver into urea and glutamine, impacts autophagy differently at varying levels. Low ammonia activates autophagy via c‐Myc and β‐catenin, while high levels suppress it. Using Huh7 cells and Spf‐ash mice, c‐Myc's role in cytoprotective autophagy is revealed, offering insights into hyperammonemia and potential therapeutic ...

Evaluation of Photovoltaic Laser Power Converters for Non-Uniform Laser Irradiance Profiles
The non-uniform irradiance of fiber lasers influences the performance of power-by-light systems. We analyze the non-uniformity in both single and triple junction power converters in addition to other parameters that could reduce the efficiency such as manufacturing tolerances or series resistance effect.

Investigation of work function and chemical composition of thin films of borides and nitrides [PDF]
Thin films of various borides, nitrides, and barium fluorides were tentatively deposited by pulsed laser deposition and by magnetron sputtering in order to develop the components of thermionic-photovoltaic devices for the high-temperature thermal to ...

Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.
