Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

Enzymatic degradation of biopolymers in amorphous and molten states: mechanisms and applications

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review explains how polymer morphology and thermal state shape enzymatic degradation pathways, comparing amorphous and molten biopolymer structures. By integrating structure–reactivity principles with insights from thermodynamics and enzyme engineering, it highlights mechanisms that enable efficient polymer breakdown.

Latent class analysis as a typology identification technique

open access: yesINFAD, 2019
In Psychology, it is common to find situations in which some kind of classification of people in subgroups or classes is needed. There are multivariate analysis techniques such as Hierarchical Cluster Analysis (HCA) that are  commonly used for this ...

Insights into Latent Class Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Latent class analysis is a popular statistical technique for estimating disease prevalence and test sensitivity and specificity. It is used when a gold standard assessment of disease is not available but results of multiple imperfect tests are. We derive

Higher Amyloid and Tau Burden Is Associated With Faster Decline on a Digital Cognitive Test

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective A 2‐min digital clock‐drawing test (DCTclock) captures more granular features of the clock‐drawing process than the pencil‐and‐paper clock‐drawing test, revealing more subtle deficits at the preclinical stage of Alzheimer's disease (AD). A previous cross‐sectional study demonstrated that worse DCTclock performance was associated with

A data‐driven examination of apathy and depressive symptoms in dementia with independent replication

open access: yesAlzheimer’s & Dementia: Diagnosis, Assessment & Disease Monitoring, 2023
Apathy is one of the most common neuropsychiatric symptoms (NPS) and is associated with poor clinical outcomes. Research that helps define the apathy phenotype is urgently needed, particularly for clinical and biomarker studies.

Post‐COVID Fatigue Is Associated With Reduced Cortical Thickness After Hospitalization

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Neuropsychiatric symptoms are among the most prevalent sequelae of COVID‐19, particularly among hospitalized patients. Recent research has identified volumetric brain changes associated with COVID‐19. However, it currently remains poorly understood how brain changes relate to post‐COVID fatigue and cognitive deficits.

Bayesian Latent Class Analysis Tutorial [PDF]

open access: yesMultivariate Behavioral Research, 2018
This article is a how-to guide on Bayesian computation using Gibbs sampling, demonstrated in the context of Latent Class Analysis (LCA). It is written for students in quantitative psychology or related fields who have a working knowledge of Bayes Theorem and conditional probability and have experience in writing computer programs in the statistical ...

Daratumumab Treatment for Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP): A Case Report

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP) is an immune‐mediated neuropathy featuring progressive weakness, sensory deficits, and areflexia. While corticosteroids, intravenous immunoglobulin, and plasmapheresis are effective first‐line immunotherapies, a subset of patients remains treatment‐refractory.
