Lateral flow immunoassays (LFIAs) are a staple in the field of rapid diagnostics. These small handheld devices require no specialized training or equipment to operate, and generate a result within minutes of sample application. They are an ideal format for many types of home test kits, for emergency responders and for food manufacturers and producers ...

Immunochromatographic Lateral Flow Strip Tests
2009The immunochromatographic lateral flow strip test is a one-step test that facilitates low-cost, rapid identification of various analytes at the point of care. We have developed lateral flow strip tests for the specific qualitative or semiquantitative detection of antigens, antibodies, and haptens, such as drug residues.

The theory of flow through a lateral conduit outlet has been adopted to derive an expression for the discharge coefficient of the flow through a lateral weir set in a rectangular channel. The theoretical expressions hold good for subcritical flow in the channel upstream of the weir.

In recent years, the Web witnessed a move towards sophis- ticated client-side functionality. This shift caused a signifi- cant increase in complexity of deployed JavaScript code and thus, a proportional growth in potential client-side vulnera- bilities, with DOM-based Cross-site Scripting being a high impact representative of such security issues.

The lateral flow (immuno)assay is a relatively old diagnostic platform that was developed in the 1980s. Over the last 30 years, a very diverse panel of lateral flow immunoassays has been developed and marketed. At the moment, the platform is being transformed into a modern diagnostic tool that can be integrated with nowadays technologies such as ...

Laterally converging flow. Part 1. Mean flow
Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 1983Laterally converging flow occurs between two parallel surfaces with an exit hole formed in one. The present study examines the flow at a distance from the exit as a means of investigating an accelerating radial internal flow induced by the lateral convergence and satisfying the boundary-layer approximations.

Flow control for lateral flow strips with centrifugal microfluidics
Lab on a Chip, 2019Lateral flow strips (LFSs) are widely used for clinical diagnostics. The restricted flow control is one challenge to the development of quantitative and highly sensitive LFSs. Here, we present a flow control for LFSs using centrifugal microfluidics.

Rapid Prototyping of Lateral Flow Assays
2009Principles and characteristics of lateral flow strip assays are reviewed. Recent technology developments permit the use of inexpensive electronic readers for interrogating lateral flow strip test results, thus avoiding the inevitable variation and subjectivity of visual inspection to assess the capture of reporter-labeled analyte on test lines of the ...
