Feasibility and Safety of Somato‐Cognitive Coordination Therapy for Cerebellar Ataxia Following Pediatric Brain Tumor Treatment

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Cerebellar ataxia after pediatric brain tumor treatment can cause persistent gait, balance, and speech impairment, yet no established rehabilitation strategy exists. Somato‐cognitive coordination therapy (SCCT) is a virtual reality–guided intervention designed to promote sensorimotor integration through visually constrained reaching

Rapid and sensitive diagnosis of live Mycobacterium tuberculosis using clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeat‐Cas13a point‐of‐care RNA testing

open access: yesView
Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) is the causal pathogen of tuberculosis (TB). Rapid and accurate detection of live MTB is important for transmission control and patient treatment.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Development of an indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and lateral-flow test strips for pefloxacin and its analogues in chicken muscle samples

open access: yesFood and Agricultural Immunology, 2018
An anti-pefloxacin (PEF) monoclonal antibody (mAb), an indirect competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and lateral-flow test strip methods were developed to detect fluoroquinolone (FQ) residues in chicken muscle samples. Under optimised conditions,

Conserved binding mode but diverse interfaces of MreC‐PBP2 interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The crystal structure of abMreC reveals a conserved two β‐barrel architecture and provides structural insights into its role within the bacterial elongasome. The abMreC–abPBP2 complex model identifies the molecular basis of MreC‐mediated PBP2 recognition, contributing to the regulation of peptidoglycan synthesis.

Lateral flow assays for hormone detection

open access: yesLab on a Chip, 2022
Lateral flow assays (LFAs) have gained momentum for hormone biosensing, offering significant advantages over conventional techniques. This review demonstrates recent advances driving LFAs to the forefront of modern point-of-care hormone biosensing.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Rapid Detection of microRNA-122 in Serum and Finger Blood Using a Lateral Flow Nucleic Acid Biosensor

open access: yesBiosensors
MicroRNA122 (miR-122) is a microRNA that is highly expressed in hepatocytes and has been identified as a prospective therapeutic target and biomarker for liver injury. An expanding body of research has demonstrated that miR-122 is a critical regulator in
