ABSTRACT Objective To determine whether integration of serum neurofilament light chain (NfL) and cortical dysfunction improves diagnostic accuracy in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) when applied alongside the Gold Coast criteria (GCC). Methods In this prospective study, 148 participants with suspected ALS were recruited (101 ALS and 47 with ALS ...

ABSTRACT Objective Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a clinically heterogeneous neurodegenerative disease requiring reliable biomarkers to improve patient stratification and trial design. While serum neurofilament light chain (sNfL) reflects neuroaxonal stress and disease aggressiveness, troponin T (TnT) may capture complementary aspects of ...

This study demonstrates that Tf‐PDA NPs combine a receptor‐mediated targeting with mild photothermal activation to enhance nanoparticle accumulation in the brain. NIR‐activated Tf‐PDA NPs increase BBB permeability to NPs in vitro and in vivo without inducing cytotoxicity or adverse immune responses.

Application of Monoclonal Anti-Mycolate Antibodies in Serological Diagnosis of Tuberculosis
Patient loss to follow-up caused by centralised and expensive diagnostics that are reliant on sputum is a major obstacle in the fight to end tuberculosis. An affordable, non-sputum biomarker-based, point-of-care deployable test is needed to address this.

The Current Status and Future Promise of SPR Biosensors
The most commonly used protein detection methods in clinical diagnosis and disease monitoring are enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), Western blotting (immunoblot), and lateral flow assay (LFA) rapid screening, of which ELISA is the gold standard ...

Systematic investigation of antibody orientation strategies in lateral flow immunoassays reveals that a para‐substituted (aminomethyl)phenylboronic acid mediated probe (P‐6) combined with a biotin‐streptavidin test‐line modification achieves a synergistic 14‐ to 19‐fold sensitivity gain over conventional conjugation. Furthermore, multiplexed detection,

Development of a Nanobody-Based Lateral Flow Immunoassay for Detection of Human Norovirus
Human noroviruses are the dominant cause of outbreaks of acute gastroenteritis. These viruses are usually detected by molecular methods, including reverse transcriptase PCR (RT-PCR) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).
