VRK1‐Related Motor Neuropathy With Upper Motor Neuron Signs and Selective Muscle Involvement

open access: yesJournal of the Peripheral Nervous System, Volume 31, Issue 3, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Hereditary motor neuropathies (HMN) represent a heterogeneous group of disorders with wide clinical and genetic variability. Despite advances in molecular diagnostics, approximately 50% of cases remain genetically unresolved, particularly those where distinguishing length‐dependent motor neuropathy from motor neuron disorder with ...

Development of the abdominal musculature in the chicken embryo

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, Volume 249, Issue 3, Page 618-633, September 2026.
In this study, we investigate anatomy, morphogenesis, segmental origin, and fiber formation of the abdominal musculature in the chicken embryo. We show that abdominal muscles arise from somites 24 to 28, and that the segmental identity of individual fibers in the abdominal muscle sheets is maintained.

Dynamics of Neural Adjustments During Progressive Transitions to Unweighted and Reloaded Running

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Medicine &Science in Sports, Volume 36, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT The lower body positive pressure treadmill (LBPPT) enables running at different percentages of body weight. This study investigated how neural adjustments unfold during progressive transitions to unweighted and reloaded running, and assessed the repeatability of their dynamics across two successive exposures.

Transconjunctival Orbitotomy as Surgical Management of an Orbital Lipoma in a Dog

open access: yesVeterinary Ophthalmology, Volume 29, Issue 5, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Orbital lipomas are rare in dogs and may pose diagnostic and surgical challenges. This report describes the case of a 14‐year‐old female Border Collie presenting chronic exophthalmos caused by a retrobulbar mass. On ophthalmic examination, the animal maintained bilateral vision despite chronic exposure of the right ocular surface.
