Convulsant actions of 4-aminopyridine on the guinea-pig olfactory cortex slice [PDF]
The effects of bath-applied 4-aminopyridine on neurones and extracellular potassium and calcium concentrations were recorded in slices of guinea-pig olfactory cortex. Neurones were orthodromically activated by stimulating the lateral olfactory tract.

Lateral Load Capacity and p-Multiplier of Group Piles with Asymmetrical Pile Cap under Seismic Load
Earthquakes are a high-risk natural phenomenon in Indonesia, which is between three tectonic plates: the Eurasian, Pacific, and Indo–Australian plates. This study examines the response of bored piles with asymmetrical pile cap in the Auditorium Building ...

Multi-state and non-volatile control of graphene conductivity with surface electric fields
Planar electrodes patterned on a ferroelectric substrate are shown to provide lateral control of the conductive state of a two-terminal graphene stripe. A multi-level and on-demand memory control of the graphene resistance state is demonstrated under low

ACT NOW OR LATER? ECONOMICS OF MALARIA RESISTANCE [PDF]
In the past, malaria control efforts in sub-Saharan Africa have relied on a combination of vector control with effective treatment using chloroquine. With increasing resistance to chloroquine, attention has now turned to alternative treatment strategies to replace this failing drug.

Characterization of one-dimensional quantum channels in InAs/AlSb
We report the magnetoresistance characteristics of one-dimensional electrons confined in a single InAs quantum well sandwiched between AlSb barriers. As a result of a novel nanofabrication scheme that utilizes a 3nm-shallow wet chemical etching to define

Guiding center picture of magnetoresistance oscillations in rectangular superlattices [PDF]
We calculate the magneto-resistivities of a two-dimensional electron gas subjected to a lateral superlattice (LSL) of rectangular symmetry within the guiding-center picture, which approximates the classical electron motion as a rapid cyclotron motion ...
