Exciton Radiative Lifetimes in Hexagonal Diamond Ge and SixGe1–x Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Strong room‐temperature photoluminescence reported in hexagonal Ge conflicts with theory predicting a nearly dark band edge. First‐principles calculations of excitonic radiative lifetimes fill a key gap in this debate, showing that pristine hexagonal Ge remains intrinsically weakly emissive, while Si alloying only modestly shortens the lifetime and ...

Bridging Boltzmann and Non‐Boltzmann Optical Thermometry Enabled by Multimodal Perovskite Nanocrystals

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Multimodal perovskite nanocrystals enable optical thermometry across multiple excitation and emission regimes, spanning the UV–Vis–NIR spectral range. By combining upconversion, downshifting, and persistent luminescence, the platform bridges conventional Boltzmann and non‐Boltzmann thermometric approaches.

Phase Diagrams and Piezoelectric Properties of Wurtzite Al1−x−yScxGdyN Heterostructural Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates ferroelectricity and piezoelectric properties improvement of quaternary wurtzite Al1−x−yScxGdyN${\rm Al}_{1-x-y}{\rm Sc}_x{\rm Gd}_y{\rm N}$ films, guided by density functional theory calculations. Wurtzite Al1−x−yScxGdyN${\rm Al}_{1-x-y}{\rm Sc}_x{\rm Gd}_y{\rm N}$ films have a high optical bandgap, enhanced piezoelectric ...

Simulation of Combustion Field with Lattice Boltzmann Method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Turbulent combustion is ubiquitously used in practical combustion devices. However, even chemically non-reacting turbulent flows are complex phenomena, and chemical reactions make the problem even more complicated.

Metal‐Enhanced Charge Transport and its Mechanism in Atomically Precise Ruthenium Single‐Molecule Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An atomically precise platform was developed for investigating single‐molecule charge transport. This innovative platform enables the creation of highly uniform molecular devices using ruthenium‐based molecules. It reveals a significant enhancement in molecular conductance due to the metallic ruthenium center and a unique barrier‐lowering effect during

Discrete Artificial Boundary Conditions for the Lattice Boltzmann Method in 2D

open access: yesESAIM: Proceedings and Surveys, 2015
To confine a spatial domain to a smaller computational domain, one needs artificial boundaries. This work considers the lattice Boltzmann method and deals with boundary conditions for these open boundaries.
