An automated multiscale ensemble simulation approach for vascular blood flow [PDF]
Cerebrovascular diseases such as brain aneurysms are a primary cause of adult disability. The flow dynamics in brain arteries, both during periods of rest and increased activity, are known to be a major factor in the risk of aneurysm formation and ...

New High‐Tc Charge‐Transfer Multiferroicity in the Quasi‐2D Antiferromagnet CrSbS3
ABSTRACT Low‐dimensional magnets, particularly 2D systems, offer a rich platform for realizing unconventional multiferroic mechanisms, especially when multiple polarization channels coexist. In the quasi‐2D antiferromagnet CrSbS3, which crystallizes in the centrosymmetric orthorhombic space group Pnma and orders magnetically at TN ≈ 90 K, two ...

Lattice Boltzmann model for transonic flows
The hydrodynamic limit of a discrete kinetic equation is intrinsically connected with the symmetry of the lattices used in construction of a discrete velocity model. On mixed lattices composed of standard lattices the sixth-order (and higher) moment is often not isotropic and thus they are insufficient to ensure correct imposition of the hydrodynamic ...

Computational modelling of flows in porous scaffold materials using a lattice Boltzmann method
PhDPorous scaffold materials have been widely used in biological tissue engineering. It is known that fluid flow in porous media significantly increases the supply of oxygen and other nutrients to cells seeded in the porous material, and speeds up the

Polymorphic Superparaelectric Engineering Boosting Energy Storage Capacity in BaTiO3‐Based Ceramics
Herein, Ca2+ incorporation promotes the coexistence of CaTiO3‐/BaTiO3‐derived paraferroelectric states, stabilizing cubic‐orthorhombic‐tetragonal polymorphic superparaelectric phases. This minimizes polarization energy barriers, facilitating full polarization saturation without compromising efficiency.

Magnetoelectric nanoparticles (MENPs) enable fully wireless, minutely invasive neuromodulation, and potentially neural recording, by converting magnetic into electric and, conversely, electric into magnetic fields, respectively, at high spatiotemporal resolution.

Numerical simulations of complex fluid-fluid interface dynamics
Interfaces between two fluids are ubiquitous and of special importance for industrial applications, e.g., stabilisation of emulsions. The dynamics of fluid-fluid interfaces is difficult to study because these interfaces are usually deformable and their ...
