The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Discrete asymptotic nets and W-congruences in Plucker line geometry
The asymptotic lattices and their transformations are studied within the line geometry approach. It is shown that the discrete asymptotic nets are represented by isotropic congruences in the Plucker quadric.

The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Shaping soliton properties in optical Mathieu lattices
We address basic properties and stability of two-dimensional solitons in photonic lattices induced by the nondiffracting Mathieu beams. Such lattices allow for smooth topological transformation of radially symmetric Bessel lattices into quasi-one ...

We show that the timed Dicke states of a collection of three-level atoms can form a tight-binding lattice in momentum space. This lattice, coined the superradiance lattice (SL), can be constructed based on electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT). For a one-dimensional SL, we need the coupling field of the EIT system to be a standing wave.

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting

The transverse lattice approach to non-perturbative light-front hamiltonian QCD is described. Preliminary results on the pi-rho system are presented, at fixed DLCQ and Tamm-Dancoff cut-offs. A renormalised, approximately Lorentz covariant light-front hamiltonian is found to leading order of the colour-dielectric expansion, compatible with a massless ...

A free lattice fermion field theory in 1+1 dimensions can be interpreted as SOS-type model, whose spins are integer-valued. We point out that the relation between these spins and the fermion field is similar to the abelian bosonization relation between bosons and fermions in the continuum.
