Poisoning by lavandin extract in a 18-month-old boy
Clinical Toxicology, 2008An 18-month-old boy ingested a small amount of homemade lavandin extract. The child developed a central nervous system depression and a confused state three hours after ingestion. The electroencephalogram showed fast rhythm disorders consistent with a toxic etiology. The outcome was favorable.

The French lavender and lavandin industry
Economic Botany, 1954Oil of lavender, once produced to the extent of 150,000 kilograms annually in France from true lavender, has decreased to about 50,000 kilograms annually, having given way to a 300,000 kilogram production of lavandin from hybrids of true lavender and spike lavender.

Clonal propagation, callus formation and plant regeneration of lavandin
Scientia Horticulturae, 1988Abstract Methods for in vitro propagation of lavandin cultivar ‘Grosso’ ( Lavandula officinalis Chaix × Lavandula latifolia Villars) are described. The culture medium was Linsmaier and Skoog medium supplemented with 30 g l −1 sucrose, 7.5 g l −1 agar and growth regulators. Micropropagation was performed using stem node explants. Various hormonal

Chemical and thermal analysis of the biopolymers in the lavandin
Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2000Who does not know the lavender's perfume so characteristic of the Provence? The lavandin presents a better yield in essential oil that is used mainly in perfumes and cosmetics, but also in washing powders and cleaning materials. The chemical and thermal study, made on the same stalk of the lavandin, during the period from January to August, responds to

Modeling steam distillation of essential oils: Application to lavandin super oil
AIChE Journal, 2008AbstractSteam distillation of essential oil was studied to develop a phenomenological model able to reproduce oil recovery yield vs. collected floral water volume of aromatic plants with oil glandular trichomes. The model considers three stages in the oil obtaining process: (1) thermal oil exudation from the glandular trichomes, (2) vapor–liquid ...

Micropropagation of Lavandin (Lavandula officinalis Chaix × Lavandula latifolia Villars cv. Grosso)
1992Lavandin (Fig. 1) is a sterile hybrid between Lavandula officinalis Chaix (≡ L. angustifolia Mill. ≡ L. vera DC) and Lavandula latifolia Villars. L. officinalis grows at higher altitudes than L. latifolia and blooms 10 to 20 days earlier but it frequently shows delayed blooming, hence allowing hybrid formation. Because of the incomplete homology of the
