Long non‐coding RNAs as therapeutic targets in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma and clinical application

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Long non‐coding RNAs (lncRNAs) occupy an abundant fraction of the eukaryotic transcriptome and an emerging area in cancer research. Regulation by lncRNAs is based on their subcellular localization in HNSCC. This cartoon shows the various functions of lncRNAs in HNSCC discussed in this review.

Effect of Heat Stress on Laying and Non-Laying Hens

open access: yesPoultry Science, 1971
Abstract INTRODUCTION A REVIEW of the literature indicates that comparisons between laying and non-laying hens under heat stress conditions are very limited. Huston et al. (1957) indicated that at high environmental temperature 32.2°C. (90°F.), nonlayers had 0.4°C. (0.7°F.) higher body temperature than layers, which was highly significant.

Gut alterations in a chronic kidney disease rat model with diet‐induced vascular calcification

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients often suffer from intestinal and/or mineral and bone disorders. Using a rat model, we showed that uremic vascular calcification is associated with gut barrier alterations (decreased gut mucus production and Nlrp6 gene expression, increased gut inflammation), and plasma retention of gut‐origin uremic toxins (indoxyl

Morphological study of laying and non-laying female genital system in peacock (Pavo cristatus) [PDF]

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Veterinary Sciences
Although the avian female genital system has been studied in several birds, it's yet not been done regarding peacocks. Thus, this study approved recognizing its morphological architecture of it during laying and non-Laying periods with blood supply.

Poly(ADP-ribosyl)ation by PARP-1: 'PAR-laying' NAD+ into a nuclear signal.

open access: yesGenes & Development, 2005
Poly(ADP-ribose) (PAR) and the PAR polymerases (PARPs) that catalyze its synthesis from donor nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) molecules have received considerable attention in the recent literature.
