Line-Field Optical Coherence Tomography: Usefulness in the Non-Invasive Differential Diagnosis of Congenital Alopecia of Infancy

open access: yesDermatology Practical & Conceptual
Introduction: Soon after birth, the clinical differential diagnosis between sebaceous of Jadassohn (NSJ), congenital triangular alopecia (CTA) and aplasia cutis congenita (ACC) may be challenging.

Microglial Fkbp5 Impairs Post‐Stroke Vascular Integrity and Regeneration by Promoting Yap1‐Mediated Glycolysis and Oxidative Phosphorylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A post‐stroke perivascular niche of microglia characterized by low expression of M2 markers and elevated glycolysis, oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS), and phagocytic activity is identified, which is termed stroke‐activated vascular‐associated microglia (stroke‐VAM).

Contribution of Gli1+ Adventitial Stem Cells to Smooth Muscle Cells in Atherosclerosis and Vascular Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Gli1+ adventitial stem cells (ASCs) have been thought to generate smooth muscle cells (SMCs) in atherosclerosis. Using a dual‐recombinase lineage tracing to exclude ectopic labeling, Wang et al. found that Gli1+ ASCs do not contribute to SMCs in atherosclerotic plaques.

The Role of Line-Field Confocal Optical Coherence Tomography in Detecting Extramammary Paget Disease Recurrences: A Pilot Diagnostic Study

open access: yesDiagnostics
Extramammary Paget disease (EMPD) is an uncommon adenocarcinoma of apocrine gland-rich areas, presenting significant diagnostic challenges due to its nonspecific clinical appearance and frequent misidentification as benign, inflammatory skin conditions ...

Single‐Mitochondrion ATP Profiling Directs Discovery of Targetable OXPHOS Dependency in Cancers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
MitoATP‐nFCM integrates nano‐flow cytometry with fluorogenic probes (ATP/membrane potential) and antibodies to quantify mitochondrial metabolites and protein expression at single‐organelle resolution, exposing oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS)‐driven metabolic rewiring in cancers.

Palmitoylation‐Mediated Ubiquitination of SRPK1 Regulates Ferroptosis in High‐Fat‐Induced Erectile Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Elevated exogenous palmitic acid promotes the S‐palmitoylation of SRPK1 in endothelial cells, a dynamic process governed by ZDHHC24 and APT1. This post‐translational modification strengthens the interaction between SRPK1 and the E3 ubiquitin ligase MIB1, thereby facilitating the proteasomal degradation of SRPK1.

Morphological features of the lamina cribrosa in patients with various degrees of myopia

open access: yesJournal of Ophthalmology, 2020
Background: The lamina cribrosa plays an important role in the development of vision and undergoes changes as myopia evolves. Purpose: To examine morphological features of the lamina cribrosa in high, moderate and low myopes vs generally healthy ...

Engineered GM1 Intersects Between Mitochondrial and Synaptic Pathways to Ameliorate ALS Pathology

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal neurodegenerative disease driven by genetic and molecular disruptions affecting energy balance, protein homeostasis, and stress responses in nerve cells. Studies using human and rodent models identified convergent defects in mitochondria and synaptic function.

Gut–Metabolome–Proteome Interactions in Age‐Related Hearing Loss: Insights from Fecal Microbiota Transplantation and Multi‐Omics Analyses

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Germ‐free (GF) mice receiving fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) reveal microbiota‐dependent effects on auditory aging. Integrated metagenomic, metabolomic and proteomic profiling maps gut–inner ear network and highlights 5‐hydroxytryptophan (5‐HTP) as a microbiota‐linked metabolic hub in age‐related hearing loss (ARHL).
