Measuring cytotoxicity: a new perspective on LC50.
Anticancer research, 2007Cytotoxicity in cell culture is typically expressed as LC50 the concentration of a given agent which is lethal to 50% of the cells. This number is dependent on the incubation time with the agent. Previously, a two-term exponential model has been proposed to describe cell growth after a cytotoxic event: y(t) = k, * exp(-d(1)*t) + k2 * exp(d(2)*t).

Dependence between LD50 for Rodents and LC50 for Adult Fish and Fish Embryos
Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine, 2017We revealed empirical dependences between common logarithm of a ratio of rat oral LD50 to LCa50 for adult fish and lgP for 50 different chemicals; and common logarithm of a ratio of the oral LD50 in rodents to LCe50 for fish embryos and lgP for 30 different chemicals.

The utility of computed superdelocalizability for predicting the LC50 values of epoxides to guppies
Science of The Total Environment, 1991A quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) was found for predicting the pseudo-first-order reaction rate constant of the alkylating chemical 4-nitrobenzylpyridine with a set of epoxides. The superdelocalizability of the unoccupied levels of the orbital along the carbon-oxygen bond of the least substituted carbon was found to be an excellent ...

Standard error of lc50 and sample size in fish bioassays
Water Research, 1972Abstract The relationship between the relative error and sample size in fish bioassays was investigated empirically and theoretically. It was shown that if the mean concentration tested is near the estimated lc 50 and the same sample size is used at each test level, the dependence of relative error on sample size is predictable.

LC50 Value of Paraquat (24%) in Drosophila Melanogaster Larvae
BIOINFOLET - A Quarterly Journal of Life SciencesAbstractThe objective of present investigation was to determine the Lethal Concentration 50 (LC50) of commercially available paraquat. a herbicide, at 24 % dilution with second instar larvae of Drosophila melanogaster. For this purpose the second instar larvae, were exposed to different concentrations of paraquat (20, 22, 24, 26 and 28 µl/ml ...

Acute LC50 Value of Methotrexate in Drosophila Melanogaster Larvae
BIOINFOLET - A Quarterly Journal of Life SciencesAbstractThe value of LC50 of the commercially available immunosuppressive drug methotrexate (MTX) was determined using the larvae of Drosophila melanogaster. For this purpose, third instar larvae were exposed to different concentrations of MTX (75, 100, 150, 200 and 250 ppm). Probit analysis was done on the dose-response data in order to find LC50. The
