Palmitoylation‐Mediated Ubiquitination of SRPK1 Regulates Ferroptosis in High‐Fat‐Induced Erectile Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Elevated exogenous palmitic acid promotes the S‐palmitoylation of SRPK1 in endothelial cells, a dynamic process governed by ZDHHC24 and APT1. This post‐translational modification strengthens the interaction between SRPK1 and the E3 ubiquitin ligase MIB1, thereby facilitating the proteasomal degradation of SRPK1.

Non-HDL-C in Conjunction to LDL-C is associated with Incidence of Chronic Coronary Syndrome in Clinical Settings

open access: yesMagna Medika
Background: The biggest cause of death and a major contributor to disability globally is coroner's artery disease (CAD).  Chronic coronary syndrome (CCS) is a term that can be used to describe a wide variety of CAD clinical manifestations in clinical ...

Fatty liver in men is associated with high serum levels of small, dense low-density lipoprotein cholesterol

open access: yesDiabetology & Metabolic Syndrome, 2012
Aims Our study addressed potential associations between fatty liver and small, dense low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (sd-LDL-C) levels using a cross-sectional analysis. Methods We enrolled 476 male subjects.

APOE‐stratified Proteomic and Metabolomic Analysis Reveals Mitochondrial Dysfunction Inflammation and Lipid Dysregulation in Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A large‐scale multiomic dataset (proteomic and metabolomic) comprising 3,060 plasma samples were analyzed to identify proteins, metabolites, pathways, and protein‐associated drugs linked to Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) independently of apolipoprotein E (APOE). AD was associated with a distinct molecular signature that captures.

P5332Magic mirror on the wall, can we reach our LDL-C goal? Comparison of calculated LDL-C and direct measured LDL-C levels in atherogenic dyslipidemia condition

open access: yesEuropean Heart Journal, 2019
Abstract Background LDL-C represents the primary lipoprotein target for reducing cardiovascular risk. LDL-C can either be calculated or measured directly. Friedewald equation has certain limitations especially with high triglyceride and low LDL-C levels.

In Situ Lipoprotein‐seeking Dye for in Vivo Real‐Time Imaging of Lipid Dysregulation Diseases

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops lipoprotein‐seeking NIR‐II dyes that specifically bind circulating lipoproteins. These dyes form ultra‐stable complexes with endogenous lipoprotein, enabling real‐time, high‐contrast imaging of fatty liver and atherosclerotic plaques. Tunable binding kinetics allow customized imaging windows.

A Novel CYP2E1 Inhibitor, 4‐Methyl‐5‐Acetylthiazole (Q11), Alleviates Obesity Via Modulating Adipose Inflammation and Mitochondrial Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Obesity involves chronic inflammation and mitochondrial dysfunction. This study identifies cytochrome P450 2E1 (CYP2E1) as a novel inflammatory target in adipose tissue. Its activity increases in obese mice and correlates with inflammation and mitochondrial impairment.

A Novel 10‐Protein Score for Liver Fat Content Predicts Cardiovascular‐Kidney‐Metabolic Disease Risk

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel 10‐protein plasma score precisely quantifies liver fat, outperforming the fatty liver index. It robustly predicts the risk of numerous cardiovascular‐kidney‐metabolic diseases and integrates with genetic data for precision prevention, offering a practical alternative to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Abstract Liver fat content (LFC) is a key

Non-HDL cholesterol and LDL cholesterol in the dyslipidemic classification in patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease

open access: yesLipids in Health and Disease, 2017
Background Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) always underestimates the true cholesterol burden in patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).
