Influence of genetic diversity, drought stress and rhizobial symbiosis on the nutritional quality of common vetch (Vicia sativa L.) grain

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, Volume 106, Issue 7, Page 3952-3970, May 2026.
Abstract BACKGROUND Legumes are the primary source of plant protein in both human and livestock diets and, therefore, play an essential role in nutrition. Common vetch (Vicia sativa L.) is a grain legume widely used in animal feed. Its nutritional properties, particularly its high protein content, make it an adequate component to enrich feedstuffs ...

A Needle‐Like MOFzyme with High Aspect Ratio and Extended pH/Temperature Working Ranges for Total Antioxidant Capacity Determination and Oxidant‐/Light‐Free Dye Degradation

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 15, Issue 5, May 2026.
A needle‐like MOFzyme with high aspect ratio and extended pH/temperature working ranges was developed for quantification of total antioxidant capacity and oxidant‐/light‐free dye degradation. A needle‐like MOFzyme with high aspect ratio and extended pH/temperature working ranges was developed for quantification of total antioxidant capacity (TAC) and ...

Real‐world glycaemic outcomes observed with the use of Medtronic 780G, Tandem Control‐IQ and Omnipod 5 automated insulin delivery systems

open access: yesDiabetic Medicine, Volume 43, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Background No randomised controlled trials have directly compared commercially available hybrid automated insulin delivery (AID) systems, and real‐world comparative data remain limited. This study evaluated glycaemic outcomes across three hybrid AID systems in adults with type 1 diabetes (T1D).

PFAS from a Discrete‐Event Terrestrial Source Migrates with Groundwater to Intertidal Seepages

open access: yesGroundwater, Volume 64, Issue 3, Page 323-334, May/June 2026.
PFAS is conveyed to the coastal intertidal zone from sources across the terrestrial landscape. Discharge of PFAS into the coastal ecosystem is complicated in space and time by the ongoing bi‐directional exchange of terrestrial groundwater and ocean water driven by tidal pumping within discharge areas.

Cohesion Policy and Institutional Quality Impact: Does Urban–Rural Classification Matter?

open access: yesJCMS: Journal of Common Market Studies, Volume 64, Issue 3, Page 1001-1027, May 2026.
Abstract This study examines the impact of Cohesion Policy, and institutional quality, on regional economic performance across NUTS2 regions in 27 EU member states from 2007 to 2022. Average per capita Cohesion Policy payments are much higher in less developed regions, showing the policy focus on supporting lagging areas.

Real‐Time Monitoring of Refrigerated Storage Using a Wireless Sensor Network: Development and Validation of the UMITEMP System

open access: yesJournal of Food Process Engineering, Volume 49, Issue 5, May 2026.
Real‐time monitoring using a wireless sensor network revealed spatial and temporal microclimatic variability in cold rooms for table grape storage. The UMITEMP system enabled detection of humidity deficits and localized fluctuations, supporting improved environmental control and decision‐making in postharvest management.

Fine‐Scale Ecological Biomonitoring in a Large, Complex Agriculturally Impacted Watershed via eDNA Metabarcoding

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, Volume 35, Issue 10, May 2026.
ABSTRACT DNA‐based approaches utilizing high‐throughput sequencing (HTS) (e.g., DNA metabarcoding) have revolutionized ecological biomonitoring by providing higher sample throughput, greater reproducibility, and better cost‐benefits compared to traditional morphology‐based bioassessment studies.
