Hydrothermal and electrophoretic deposition of lead zirconate titanate (PZT) films

Journal of the European Ceramic Society, 2001
Abstract Hydrothermal synthesis in conjunction with colloidal processing has been used to make PZT films in an aqueous solution. Fine PZT powders with a particle size of 200 nm and a narrow particle size distribution were synthesised hydrothermally at 300°C.

Alternating‐Current‐Assisted Poling of Lead Zirconate Titanate (PZT)

Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1987
A modification of the conventional poling procedure for piezoelectric materials was investigated because of inconsistencies in the literature. Preliminary investigations appeared to support the theory of ac‐assisted poling.

Lead zirconate titanate (PZT) film capacitor with a multilayer construction

Proceedings of the IEEE 1998 National Aerospace and Electronics Conference. NAECON 1998. Celebrating 50 Years (Cat. No.98CH36185), 2002
Thin PZT film is being developed for use in microelectronics, electromechanical and optoelectronic applications. Thin Pb(ZrTi)O/sub 3/ film capacitor devices were fabricated using RF sputtering techniques. The multiple-layer configuration of Si/SiO/sub 2//Ti/Pd or Pt was used as the substrate and bottom electrode. The top electrode was either Pd or Pt.

Solder transfer of lead zirconate titanate (PZT) thin films

2010 11th International Conference on Electronic Packaging Technology & High Density Packaging, 2010
Functional ceramic thin films such as lead zirconate titanate (PZT) are of interest for a wide range of miniaturized devices. However the high processing temperatures of the films make integration of them into such devices challenging. Transfer of these films can allow integration onto substrates that are incompatible with the film deposition processes,

Seeding Effects in the Sol-Gel Preparation of Lead Zirconate Titanate (PZT) Powders

Journal of Sol-Gel Science and Technology, 1997
Lead zirconate titanate, Pb(Zr, Ti)O3 (PZT), crystallizes in a perovskite form from an intermediate pyrochlore phase and the effects of the presence of perovskite seeds have been considered. PZT powders have been obtained from lead acetate and Zr and Ti alkoxides using a sol-gel process involving a chemical modification by acetylacetone.

Fabrication of Piezoelectric Diaphragm Using Lead Zirconate Titanate (PZT) Films

MRS Proceedings, 2001
AbstractPiezoelectric diaphragms were fabricated using bulk micromachining. The diaphragms had a unimorph structure, where Pb(Zr0.52Ti0.48)O3 (PZT) and thermally grown silicon oxide (SiO2) films were used as the active and passive layers, respectively. To actuate the diaphragms, two modes were designed: d31 and d33-mode.

Pyroelectricity versus conductivity in soft lead zirconate titanate (PZT) ceramics

Journal of Materials Research, 2007
The electrical behavior of modified soft lead zirconate titanate (PZT) ceramics has been studied as a function of temperature at different direct current (dc) electric fields and grain sizes. As ferroelectrics, such as PZT, are highly polarizable materials, poling, depolarization, and electric conduction contribute to the total electrical current ...

Lead Zirconate-Lead Titanate (PZT) Ceramics From Organic-Derived Precursors

MRS Proceedings, 1984
ABSTRACTOrganic-derived precursors can facilitate the preparation of PZT ceramics, particularly in the areas of processing and batch reproducibility. The use of partially alkoxide-derived precursors and completely organic-derived precursors has been studied.
