Programming Neuromorphic Plasticity Through Ionic and Electronic Coupling in Organic Electrochemical Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Neuromorphic plasticity in OECTs is governed by the post‐stimulus evolution of coupled ionic and electronic states. Semiconductor chemistry and morphology, electrolyte composition and interfaces, and device architecture regulate ion injection, transport, confinement, and release, shifting responses from rapidly relaxing STP to metastable memory and ...

Accuracy of using leaf blade length and leaf blade width measurements to calculate the leaf area of Solanum aethiopicum Shum group

open access: yesHeliyon, 2018
Leaf area is an important parameter when determining growth response under normal as well as stressed environments. No attempt had been made to come up with an affordable but accurate alternative of measuring leaf size in research neglected leafy vegetable crops. Other techniques such as use of leaf area meters are either destructive, expensive or both.

Internodes length and leaf morphology in non-transgenic (NTG), UBIpro:ZmCCT10, and BSVpro:ZmCCT10 transgenic plants.

open access: yes, 2019
A) Internode length by node position, B) leaf length by leaf position, C) leaf width by leaf position, and D) length/width ratios by leaf position. Node and leaf number are numbered from the base to the apex of the shoot.

Hydrogel‐Based Method for High‐Resolution Measurements of Contact Mechanics in Rapid Biological Adhesives: A Case Study in Cuttlefish Tentacle Strikes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cuttlefish and squid can catch their prey within milliseconds using specialized tentacles and suckers. The physics of how the suckers can attach so quickly has remained a mystery given the technical challenges of studying them in vivo. In this publication, we develop a hydrogel that retains imprints of the suckers in order to estimate the forces they ...

Microfluidic Nano‐Assembly of Red‐Blood‐Cell (RBC) Lipids and Components for Engineering Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Engineered red blood cell‐derived extracellular vesicles (eRBCEVs) are synthesized via controlled microfluidic assembly from native RBC lipids, enabling tunable encapsulation of proteins, nucleic acids, nanoparticles, and viral vectors. The platform demonstrates reproducible nanoscale architecture, preserved membrane composition, and functional cargo ...

Primary leaf growth and coleoptile length in maize seedlings

open access: yesActa Scientiarum: Agronomy, 2018

Rational Control of Antibody Orientation for Enhancing Sensitivity and Specificity in Lateral Flow Immunoassays With Clinical Validation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Systematic investigation of antibody orientation strategies in lateral flow immunoassays reveals that a para‐substituted (aminomethyl)phenylboronic acid mediated probe (P‐6) combined with a biotin‐streptavidin test‐line modification achieves a synergistic 14‐ to 19‐fold sensitivity gain over conventional conjugation. Furthermore, multiplexed detection,

Reconstructing minimal length tree branch systems from leaf positions

open access: yesEcological Informatics, 2017
We present a method to infer a straight-lines tree branch system from a given set of leaf positions and average branching angles. Among an extensive set of possible branch systems constructed in the process, we choose the one featuring the shortest total length, following an optimality hypothesis by Leopold (1971).
