Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Impact of Strain on Drain Current and Threshold Voltage of Nanoscale Double Gate Tunnel Field Effect Transistor: Theoretical Investigation and Analysis

open access: yes, 2010
Tunnel field effect transistor (TFET) devices are attractive as they show good scalability and have very low leakage current. However they suffer from low on-current and high threshold voltage.

Single phase transformerless inverter for grid connected photovoltaic system with reduced leakage current

open access: yesElectrical engineering & Electromechanics, 2022
Introduction. Transformerless inverters are of vital importance in the field of grid connected solar photovoltaic systems offering higher efficiency than the conventional one. i.e., using transformer.

Intercompartmental communication in senescence

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Senescent cells experience structural changes in the plasma membrane, endoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria, lysosomes, nucleus, and cytoskeleton. These alterations disrupt crosstalk among cellular compartments, impairing vesicular trafficking, contact sites, and molecular flow.

Negative Differential Resistivity and Positive Temperature Coefficient of Resistivity effect in the diffusion limited current of ferroelectric thin film capacitors

open access: yes, 2004
We present a model for the leakage current in ferroelectric thin- film capacitors which explains two of the observed phenomena that have escaped satisfactory explanation, i.e. the occurrence of either a plateau or negative differential resistivity at low

Effect of the Combined Pollution of Brick Industry and Sandstorms on the Performance of High Voltage Insulators and Flashover Phenomenon

open access: yesTikrit Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2018
Recent repeated flashovers and power outage incidents in an (400/132) kV substation, located in the Ad Diwaniyah Province, have called for extensive investigations to evaluate the effect of subsequent deposition of sandstorm and free carbon particles ...

Suppression of lung adenocarcinoma migration through organelle alkalization by human lactoferrin – albumin fusion

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This paper reveals how human lactoferrin–albumin fusion (hLF‐HSA) potently suppresses lung adenocarcinoma cell migration. hLF‐HSA upregulates NHE7, leading to Golgi alkalization, disruption of the Golgi secretome, downregulation of MMP1, and reversal of EMT. These findings suggest a novel Golgi‐targeting strategy to suppress cancer cell migration.

Path Specific Register Design to Reduce Standby Power Consumption

open access: yesJournal of Low Power Electronics and Applications, 2011
A methodology is proposed to design low leakage registers by considering the type of timing path, i.e., short or long, and type of register, i.e., launching or capturing.

Current-Induced Entanglement of Nuclear Spins in Quantum Dots

open access: yes, 2004
We propose an entanglement mechanism of nuclear spins in quantum dots driven by the electric current accompanied by the spin flip. This situation is relevant to a leakage current in spin-blocked regions where electrons cannot be transported unless their ...
