Functional and Structural Evidence of Neurofluid Circuit Aberrations in Huntington Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Disrupted neurofluid regulation may contribute to neurodegeneration in Huntington disease (HD). Because neurofluid pathways influence waste clearance, inflammation, and the distribution of central nervous system (CNS)–delivered therapeutics, understanding their dysfunction is increasingly important as targeted treatments emerge.

Exploring the Effect of Device Aging on Static Power Analysis Attacks

open access: yesTransactions on Cryptographic Hardware and Embedded Systems, 2019
Vulnerability of cryptographic devices to side-channel analysis attacks, and in particular power analysis attacks has been extensively studied in the recent years. Among them, static power analysis attacks have become relevant with moving towards smaller

Low Leakage-Current InAsSb Nanowire Photodetectors on Silicon [PDF]

open access: yesNano Letters, 2015
Axially doped p-i-n InAs0.93Sb0.07 nanowire arrays have been grown on Si substrates and fabricated into photodetectors for shortwave infrared detection. The devices exhibit a leakage current density around 2 mA/cm(2) and a 20% cutoff of 2.3 μm at 300 K.

Epilepsy‐Associated Variants of a Single SCN1A Codon Exhibit Divergent Functional Properties

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Pathogenic variants in SCN1A, which encodes the voltage‐gated sodium channel NaV1.1, are associated with multiple epilepsy syndromes exhibiting a range of clinical severity. SCN1A variants are reported in different syndromes, including Dravet syndrome, which is associated with loss‐of‐function, whereas neonatal/infantile‐onset ...

A Depolarizing Leak in Sodium Bicarbonate Cotransporter NBCe1 Causes Brain Edema

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.

A spin field effect transistor for low leakage current

open access: yes, 2004
In a spin field effect transistor, a magnetic field is inevitably present in the channel because of the ferromagnetic source and drain contacts. This field causes random unwanted spin precession when carriers interact with non-magnetic impurities.

Polarization retention loss in PbTiO3 ferroelectric films due to leakage currents [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The relationship between retention loss in single crystal PbTiO3 ferroelectric thin films and leakage currents is demonstrated by piezoresponse and conductive atomic force microscopy measurements.
