Flux Intensifying PM-Motor with Variable Leakage Magnetic Flux Technique

2018 International Power Electronics Conference (IPEC-Niigata 2018 -ECCE Asia), 2018
This paper describes a flux intensifying PM-motor with variable magnetic flux. The unique feature of this proposed motor is the ability to passively adjust the magnetic flux linkage into the armature windings in proportion to the armature magnetomotive force and/or armature current phase.

Analysis of leakage flux in deenergized transformer

2017 18th International Symposium on Electromagnetic Fields in Mechatronics, Electrical and Electronic Engineering (ISEF) Book of Abstracts, 2017
This article presents the numerical analysis of the magnetic field that occurs around the transformer after it has been switched off. The purpose of this analysis was to determine if it is possible to define the residual fluxes in the legs of transformer based on the measurements of this field.

Magneto-optical leakage flux testing of steel

International Magnetics Conference, 1989
A magnetic garnet film was studied as a leakage flux sensor for detecting defects in a steel surface. The modification of magnetization in the garnet film by the leakage was detected magnetooptically. The perpendicular anisotropy of the garnet film is sensitive only to the normal component of the stray field.

Invariance transformations for magnetic flux leakage signals

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1996
Magnetic flux leakage (MFL) methods are used extensively for inspecting ferromagnetic materials. The analysis of the MFL signal is however fraught with problems associated with the sensitivity of the signal to a number of factors such as the MFL sensor velocity and variations in the permeability of the test specimen.

Transient leakage flux in small universal motors

IEE Proceedings B Electric Power Applications, 1981
This communication reports an investigation into the transient back-of-core flux that arises in a small universal motor. A substantial leakage flux has been shown to exist under starting conditions which is caused by excess field ampere turns saturating the core and forcing the flux into the back-of-core region.

Tubing thread inspection by magnetic flux leakage

NDT & E International, 2006
Abstract The failure of the oil well tubing thread is a very serious problem which may result in accidents and repairs during well servicing. Routine inspections on the threads are thus necessary. This paper proposes a local magnetic flux leakage testing method to inspect the end of the pieces and introduces a certain kind of tubing thread testing ...

Neutron Leakage Flux and the Nitrogen Abundance of Venus

Journal of the Atmospheric Sciences, 1962
Multigroup diffusion calculations of the equilibrium flux were performed for assumed atmospheric compositions; neutron leakage spectra are presented. An experiment for determining the nitrogen abundance of the Venusian upper atmosphere from neutron flux measurements is suggested. (L.N.N.)

Magnetic Flux Leakage Testing for Defect Characterization

2016
As a further study on the low-level magnetized magnetic flux leakage testing, numerical simulations and measurements were conducted to investigate the influence of liftoff variation, applicability of the approach to local thinning and material characterization.
