TUBE LEAKAGE EFFECT ON RADIATIVE HEAT FLUX IN BOILER
Proceedings of the First International Symposium on Radiation Transfer, 1995Early diagnostics of tube leakage in a furnace would help in preventing the failure by planning maintenance. The detection system should be based on the reading of the selected variables which are dependent on the water leakage content in the flue gases.

Evaluation of Leakage Flux out of a Dental Magnetic Attachment
2007 29th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2007A dental magnetic attachment is a device to retain dental prostheses such as overdentures by magnetic attraction. As compared with mechanical attachments, the magnetic attachment has a superior retention properties due to less lateral pressure to its abutment tooth, and hence it has come to be widely used, particularly for retaining overdentures ...

Innovative design for flux leakage reduction in IPM machines
2012 XXth International Conference on Electrical Machines, 2012This paper presents a novel rotor design for interior permanent-magnet machines. The advantage of this solution is the near elimination of magnetic flux leakage in the rotor iron bridges, which represents the main disadvantage of this machine topology. Therefore, enhanced magnet utilization results from the new rotor arrangement.

The cosmic-ray neutron leakage flux
Journal of Geophysical Research, 1963The intensity and spectrum of neutrons leaking out of the earth's atmosphere are calculated by a multigroup diffusion code as a function of latitude and solar cycle. The absolute intensity is obtained from normalization of the calculated flux to measured values in the atmosphere.

End leakage flux of machine cores
IEE-IERE Proceedings - India, 1971The leakage field at the core ends of a salient-pole machine is difficult to determine accurately owing to the complexity of the end profiles of the stator. The paper simplifies these profiles, thus making it possible to obtain the leakage flux by an analysis based on the assumption that the flux lines follow geometrical paths.

Pulsed magnetic flux leakage techniques for crack detection and characterisation [PDF]
Magnetic flux leakage (MFL) techniques have been widely used for non-intrusively inspecting steel installations by applying magnetization. In the situations where defects may take place on the near and far surfaces of the structure under inspection ...

Magnetic Flux Leakage for Bridge Inspection
Nondestructive Testing Methods for Civil Infrastructure, 1995For many years the Federal Highway Administration, and before that the Bureau of Public Roads, had focused its nondestructive evaluation program on development of better tools to inspect components of steel bridges. In the early 70s the emphasis was changed and attention was given to the need for an inspection device that would detect and assess the ...

On the calculation of pole surface leakage flux
Archiv für Elektrotechnik, 1969In designing electromagnetic circuits the pole surface leakage flux introduced by an air-gap, must be known. After defining the so called “utilization factor”, a review of the existing formulas for calculating it, is given. The major part of the paper deals with the presentation of a new and very accurate formula, based on the method of conformal ...

Analysis of Leakage Flux Losses in the Transverse Flux Permanent Magnet Generator
2011 IEEE Green Technologies Conference (IEEE-Green), 2011Leakage flux losses in a transverse flux generator are studied in the paper in order to improve its performance. The analysis refers to the built generator prototype. The magnetic flux density and induced voltage are calculated using 3D Finite Element Method software. The results are compared with measured ones.

Magnet leakage flux of axial flux PM synchronous machines for EV
2014 IEEE International Electric Vehicle Conference (IEVC), 2014This paper presents the study of an axial flux permanent magnet synchronous machine specially designed for electric vehicle (EV) applications. Based on the analysis of the physical machine a 3D simulation model is created. The goal of the simulations is to investigate the influence of certain input design parameters on the machine's PM leakage flux ...
